  1. Thanks for the story. I have several mulberry spots here in RI where I fish. A month ago I landed my biggest RI mirror, 21.5 lbs. on a mulberry.

As an interesting sidenote, I have also caught many other species on mulberries including largemouth bass, trout, bluegills, white perch and horned pout. Everything eats them!

  2. My advice is to pack up and go to a new spot. They will eat anything and you can hook one and ten minutes later you could get the same turtle again. I landed 5 snapping turtles in the last two weeks and I'm fed up with them. The sun turtles are even worse. They will eat your bait along with the stop and you won't even detect a hit!

  3. Here in RI we are setting up a family/kids fishing day on the Blackstone Canal in Lincoln on Sunday, June 27. It will be a low key affair with the emphasis on beginning carping. All our members have been informed and we plan to plug this event on our website for non members who might be interested in attending.

  4. I have a video on how to set up an inline lead. It is posted on my RI Carp Fishing site which is linked below. It is under the June, 2009, archive.

You can also view it on You Tube (link below).
