    12. You are responsible for keeping your lines from washing into other pegged areas.

    13. Chum will be limited to no more than 1 gallon throughout the course of the tournament. Pack bait that is introduced into the water by feeder does not count against that 1 gallon total.

14, Chum may introduced by spoons, spods, catapults, boilie throwers, or any other standard system. Please do not chum into other pegged areas. No Chum boats allowed.

    15. Good etiquette is requested.

    16. This is a family event so please keep from using profanity.

    17. You may assist another angler in hook set, playing, landing, netting of fish, or any other capacity, however fish is scored to owner of rod. This will allow an angler to go to bathroom if needed.

    18. Non participants are allowed to assist in netting of fish.

    19. If a fish is hooked before the end of the tournament the angler will be given an additional 5 minutes to land the fish.

    20. No chumming will be allowed until the tournament has started.

    21. If a hooked fish swims into another pegged area please be understanding, it may be you the next time, with that being said please make every attempt to keep your hooked fish out of other pegged areas.

    22. Whole corn shall be cooked if it is to be used as chum.

    23. Anglers who are situated near bridge pegs may chum from the bridges as long as they follow rules 13,14,and 20.

    24. Common, Mirror, and Koi Carp will be scored.

    25. Have fun and enjoy good company.

    26. All anglers will be given a scorecard for their own use and all stewards will also have a scorecard for all of the anglers in their section. Both scorecards will be initialed by the angler and the steward.

CAG North American Championship: Total weight of four largest carp.

CAG Carp King: Largest Carp caught.

Wacker Bait Total Weight Champion: Total weight of all carp caught

Section Winner Award: Total weight winner from each of the four sections.

BFS Big Freaking Sucker Award: Largest sucker caught.

Westside Bait First Fish Award: Awarded to first carp caught in tournament.

CCC 3 Person Team Awards: Awarded to top 3 teams total weight caught during tournament

The Marukyu Youth Trophy: Awarded to the under 18 angler with the most weight.

I feel that these are fair and simple rules. If there is any problems we are open to discussion. If there is any pertinent rule that I have missed please post and it will be considered.

  2. I have a question for the pre-fishing tournament at hubbards, since there are buffs there at the lake are these gonna be counted for the total weight ,big fish ect??? As i know in most tournaments it usally commons, mirrors so was just wondering as there are buffs in there too.......

That is a good question. Only commons and Mirrors will count in our tournament, however if you buy into any of the jugs at Hubbards the grassies and Buffs will count. Thanks

  3. I heard mention of traditions in the past few pages of this thread which brings to my attention no mention of the traditional CCC auction/raffle....what day will this be on?

This usually brings in 4-5% of CAG's total income for the year and offsets the cost of the event.

Looking forward to what will be raised this year.

I'm assuming that the raffle will take place after the awards banquet with the remaining prizes that are donated by our generous sponsors. My goal is first and foremost to put on a nice event since there is no cash payout on a $50 entry tournament. I want the guest to feel as if they have gotten their money's worth. I feel that many of the door prizes were donated to the CCC and it's participants and not necessarily going to supplement CAG'S Budget.

I'm just saying let's put on a nice event that CAG can be proud of and not worry about how much CAG's take is going to be until later.

My guess is that CAG will raise plenty of money off of this event. I'm sure you won't be disappointed.

This is the names in which I have received emails from CAG. If your name is not on there we will add it to the list.

I know of at least 25-20 anglers from Indiana who have not registered.

Pre registration is appreciated instead of doing it the night of the party..

I know this sounds optimistic, but I still expect at least 60 anglers.

.Looking forward to seeing all of you,

  5. I will have a sign up area at the CCC for teams to group up. If there are teams who are short we will help to form teams. I have trophies for the top 3 teams. If you don't hook up with a team before you get here don't worry about it we will help you find someone.

  6. I believe the original rod limit for the 2013 CCC at Indy was set at three, and then it was changed to two.

There have been at least four participants who indicated that they wish it had stayed at three, but all of us have indicated that we will comply with whatever limits are set.

I am not asking for a change back to three. As indicated, if it is the tradition of the CCC to go with two rods, then two rods it is.

I just don't understand the reasons, but two rods are fine, if that is the will of those in charge.

Thanks for organizing and hosting this. It is much appreciated.--Frank

Frank, Thank you for everything. I did not mean to direct anything toward you. I was just saying that we will go along with whatever is the decision of the powers that be. I appreciate all the work that you have put into promoting this event. I also appreciate you organizing all of the information on "Illinois Carp fishing News". Looking forward to seeing you. Jim

  7. I don't believe anyone here in Indianapolis has any problem with two rods. If it is the tradition of the CCC to go with two rods, than two rods it is. This is Chicago's tournament. We want to uphold the traditions as best we can. We are grateful for the opportunity to host. We are going to add our flavor to it, however honoring your past history of this tournament is of the utmost importance.

Also, Bud Yancy one of the founders of CAG will be honored at the Banquet. An award in his honor will be presented to his family. We are possibly going to have his wife and other family members present at the Banquet. Honoring our past is one of the many things that make this club special.

All of us in Indianapolis are looking very forward to seeing all of you. Thanks for coming to Indy to be part of it. :party0012icon:

  8. Nicely done, as always, Jim. Please put me down for one XL. --Frank

p.s. I assume the front and the back of the shirt are quick examples and not proofs sent to your tee-shirt company. However, if they are original proofs, please check the spelling of Indianapolis on the front of the shirt.

    Thanks for catching that Frank.

  9. I Just ordered 96 Dri-Fit 2013 CCC Sport Shirts. These are the Lightweight Shirts that breath real well. I ordered 24 large, 24 xl, 24 2x, 12 3x and 12 4x. They will be here for the CCC. The cost will be $14 ea. The color of the shirt is a light Grey. Here is a look athe front and back logos. The CAG Logo will be pocket sized on the front. 10. I have a few photos of the venue and the location of pertinent areas of interest.

The White River venue is located in Downtown Indianapolis IN. The Baitshop and Sportsman's Hall is located just across the street from the center of the venue. The venue is a one mile stretch of river which has a grass hill which goes down to a 5 ft. wide sidewalk. Below th e sidewalk you will see an angled concrete slope which goes down to a rocky shoreline. Many areas od the rocky shoreline are free of trees. Other areas have openings (apx 10-15 wide) cut out for a peg.

Many people fish from the elevated sidewalk, some go down and fish from the rocky shoreline. In most cases you will need to go down to the rocky shoreline to net your fish.

The grass hill is slighty steep. I would guess the distance down hill to be 50-60 ft.

The Bivvy town is located in a grass field that attches to the south side of the baitshop parking lot.

The Sportsman's Hall is located just behind the Baitshop on the westside.

As far as the gobies go I have never heard of any of them at this venue. There is the occasional snag. There is portions of the river where you cast across it. There are other areas that are nearly 200 yds. wide.

The depths will vary from 5 to 20 ft. depending upon the area. There is a deeper channel that runs throughout the entire venue. In some cases it will be close to the shoreline and in others you will need to get out far to reach it.

Fish will range from 3 to 15 lbs. With the occasional 20 plus, but they are far and few between. There are more and more mirrors pooping up throughout the venue over the last several years.

There are parking spots along the venue, plus parking at the store. There are also several business that allow parking for us across the street from the venue. In most cases I do not see you having to walk over 100 yds to your peg, plus the distance down the hill.

When the river is low there is not a lot of current. 1/2 to 1 oz will hold you. When the river gets up it can take up to 3-4 ozs. to hold you.

  11. There is going to be a Pre CCC Tournament at Hubbards South Lakes 8200 E. Old SR 144 Mooresville IN 46158 Phone: 317 532-7197. This will take place on Friday Sept 27th from 9am to 2 pm.

This lake is notorious for having big beautiful carp. It has four nice ponds that are well maintained.

  12. We are going to be working on the pegs this month. The pegs will be different than they are now. I hope to use all of the available space. We will be making four sections of pegs. As we get a better feel for how many people are going to be there I will be able to tell you more. There will be some pegs that we will be eliminating and there will be some new ones that we are going to open up north of the Michigan Street Bridge.

Thank you Frank for posting the photos of the venue.

  13. Couple of questions-

    1. Are small tents okay to use in bivvy town or is it strictly bivvies?

    2. Are there any bathrooms along the river?

I will have outhouses set up in the bivvie town. You can use a tent if you like. I will have power out to the Bivvie town also. Most likely I will keep the store open all night. The Bivvie town is right next to the store. The mosquitoes should not be a problem that late in the season.

  14. Looks like a great time for all. Love to have the time and $$$ to fish a couple of tourneys. Thanks for sharing the story and pix. BTW, the guy sacked out in the chair looks comfy.

Question here: Are there carp in all 50 states? I'm thinking of Alaska and Hawaii.

Alaska was an interesting story. They had to plant two Koi in a garden pond, because carp are not in Alaska. It took them almost two days to get one to bite. They also had to go back to Louisiana 4 times before they were able to get a carp. In the Eastern U.S. they were able to get carp in two states in one day on several occasions. Frank was born and raised in Indiana until he was 21 years old, however after they thought that had completed all 50 states Frank began to question if he had actually caught a carp in Indiana, so he flew back on his own to be sure. My guess is that this feat had never been done before in any species of fish.

  15. The Inaugural Walter's Cup Tournament came to a close on Saturday. It turned out to be a beautiful sunny day, with a moderately slow bite. At the end of the 9 hour tournament "Team Indiana" came out on top with a 5-3 victory over a tough "Team Illinois". That was enough to put Indiana on top for the Overall Walter's Cup Championship with a 9-1/2 to 6-1/2 point win.

We were lucky enough to have Narda Walter's come in from Las Vegas, who the Tournament was formed to honor her and her husband, who passed last June. Narda and her husband Frank set out in the late 1990's and early 2000's to catch a carp in all 50 states. This achievement took them over 12 years and 100,000 miles to complete. Their love of the outdoors and love of Carp fishing embody what this sport is all about.

Here are the results from the 2nd match of the tournament:
