  5. I have a little update on the tournament. There was 18 teams total. There have been 12 fish caught as of 5:00 pm. The Biggest fish is just over 6 lbs. The fish are spread out through about 7-8 teams. Nobody seems to be dominating as of yet. I hope to have some better results in a while. I do know one thing, that none of the fish caught so far were by the "Hoosier Carpers". There was a family derby across the river with kids. I heard they caught over 100 carp. One kid caught 20.

    It was 10 degrees fahrenheit with a strong wind. They fished at Turtle Creek Reservoir in Indiana (Warm water Discharge electric Plant) Water was near 50 degrees.

  10. 2nd Annual "Carpers Swap Meet"

    The 2nd annual "Carpers Swap Meet" will be held in Indianapolis IN on Saturday Dec. 19th from 9am-5pm. The event will be held in the "Sportsmans Hall" located just behind:

    *All carpers are invited to bring any old equipment along that they are wanting to get rid of. There will be plenty of table space available.

    *All New Carp equipment inside the store will be marked down for Christmas.

  11. Here is the Final Results of the 2009 Hoosier Carpers Tournament Trail top 10 tournament for a trip to compete in the 2010 ACS Northeast Regional in Baldwinsville NY in May 2010. The Winner received a paid entry ($500) and will represent the "Hoosier Carpers"

    This was a tournament in which the Top 10 finishers in the 2009 Hoosier Carpers Tournament Trail qualified to compete in.

    Recap:

    Mike Olinger caught 3 fish in the first 45 minutes to capture an early lead, however the wheels came off after that. It was then Tony forte who got on them and caught over five fish in the second hour. JR ralston then caught 5 straight fish in a 1 hour span and cut Tony's lead to 2 points. Tony finished strong in the last hour to secure his lead with 4 more fish.

    Dale Anderson added 3 fish as did Shannon Pearson. Luke Bober and Ernest K. each had one fish.

    The results:

    1st. Tony Forte (9 fish) 22 points

    2nd. JR Ralston (5 fish) 17 points

    3rd. Mike Olinger (3 fish) 9 points

    4th. Shannon Pearson (3 fish) 9 points

    5th. Dale Anderson (3 fish) 9 points

    6th. Ernest Kolodzieck (1 fish) 3 points

    7th. Luke Bober (1 fish) 3 points

    8th. 3 way tie Mitchell Donlan, J. Imhausen, Tom Shirely (no fish)

    I would also like to thank all of the over 50 people who showed up to support all of the competitors.

Most especially, thanks to Jim Dolan and all the guys from Indiana for letting all of us from Illinois participate, and making all of us feel at home. I had a great time and made alot of new friends and I know all of us are looking forward to next year ( well all but 10, good luck to you guys). Once again Jim, thanks for a great year............Larry Kirchner.

    The minute you guys buy an Indiana License you are officially "Hoosier Carpers". We are glad to have you Illinois guys fishing with us.
