  1. Be careful about where you are boating. This sign used to be standing near the boat ramp that is beside the bridge. The sign has been knocked down but the rules are still in effect. Also, the bank north of the boat ramp is closed to the public during this time.post-1716-1290607586.jpg

I will do my best to at least come by to visit on Friday or Saturday. Good Luck!

  2. I am glad there is finally a CAG member in West Tennessee. Sorry to hear that you have found no other carp anglers there. I am looking forward to seeing some more photos of the carp you catch. The Tennessee River system has some big carp in east Tennessee and should have some in Pickwick and Kentucky lakes in west Tennessee. Someone just needs to find them.

  3. The easiest thing to try is canned sweet corn. Throw out a handful near a swirl and then cast your baited hook nearby the corn you just chummed. If you have a hair rig, put the sweet corn on it, if not put the corn on your hook(size 4 or smaller). Use the amount of split shot necessary for an accurate cast. You should try to use some 12 to 15 lb mono. Leave your spinning reel bail open and watch for line movement. Unfortunately, turtles like sweet corn and infest shallow backwaters :) . Take a camera and take pictures of anything you catch :D . Good luck.

  4. That is tough that you all have to wait til dark to catch in your area. Some of the leaders haven't caught anything since 11 this morning either. But some anglers were scratching a few more out slowly in the daylight. The team with the most weight is nearing 800 lbs.

    Anyone chumming with chow?

  5. Great story Zoomie. I will have to come back and read it again for more laughs in the future. Excellent work with those kids.

I used to burn my eyes with sunscreen. Now I use a "sensitive skin" sunblock from Neutrogena and there is no more eye burn. I may look like a zombie but my eyes are not red. Put it on before leaving home and cleanup should be easier.
