  1. I was the fallee...twice. Sandals, slick grass and hard clay don't mix when running to your rods during a run. I ended up taking off Saturday afternoon as I was in so much pain I couldn't bend over to rebait. I went to the ER Sunday AM and found I have a cracked rib. Not fun...I've had kidney stones and this was right up there. Got good meds and have been resting the last couple of days and am starting to feel better.

Here was my biggest of the trip at 22-14:

  2. Yeah Simon is great to deal with. I just got a bunch of Mainline baits and they were out of one of the flavor/sizes I ordered. Simon contacted me and offered to substitute a different flavor for free. Why is this a big deal you ask? Because I had ordered a 200g package and the substitute was a full KG package at no extra cost.

    Thanks Simon and Carp Kit!

  3. i recently made this post and wanted to see everyones opinion/ tactics when you fish a un pressured/new carp venue.

what is your favorite flavors or baits?

your rigs and tactics compared to pressured lakes?

structures and surrounding you look for in order to find those spots?

or do you just keep the KISS in mind on this type of circumstances?

I am definitely in the KISS opinion for these types of places. You and I agree on some other things as well.

For unpressured waters I would start out with bread, either freelined or on a hair rig (either a bread punch or just a tight ball threaded onto the hair like a boilie) with a very basic bread crumb or oat based method/pack. I believe that bread and sweet corn are the most "instant" baits you can find, but both are out of the question if there is a large turtle presence. In that case, it would be maize with any "normal" flavor, i.e. strawberry, pineapple, tutti frutti, or unflavored/sweetened/salted.

Tiger nuts might also be a good bet for virgin fish. They're one of those baits that I just don't think carp can resist when they're in the feeding mood. They're also way more turtle resistant than maize. If the turtles are really turned on, they will munch on them but they're hard enough that they usually won't get the whole thing off the hair in the time between recasts.
