Great pics and great fish all. Seems you did a heck of a job Neil along with the committee. Very sorry I missed this one, I will do everything I can to be at next year's!
Also congrats to the top 3, and to all who got PB's.

Please tell me there will be hot chicks in bikinis again next year.

My new PB from a few weeks ago, caught from a POND of all places.

Nicely done Joe!

Welcome Kevin, hope to seeya on the bank sometime.

Haha, awesome report Paul. Good to see Mr. Clapton is not the only well-known carper.
Sources tell me that one of the winners of this year's ATC is actually Bill Murray. j/k Mike

Very cool! That recapture is doubly impressive on a big open river like the Wabash, congrats.

I hate you. First you destroy me every time in WWF, now this.

Not so sure about that Flatland:
......and why do you think Jason would be jaded or that this might be typical of "any experienced big carp European fisherman"? I bet most of the old timers still get as excited as the proverbial kid in the candy store every time the alarm goes off. Why else would they have stuck with it for 40+ years?
Iain
Perhaps "jaded" was the incorrect word, I certainly didn't mean anything in a negative context. "Experienced" probably would have been more appropriate.
And yes, I realize a fish of this magnitude is once in a lifetime, whether you're a North American or European or Asian or whatever. That shows in Jason's excitement, you can really feel it here, which makes the video that much more awesome. I mean, here's a guy who has undoubtedly caught and/or witnessed many big fish in his lifetime, yet still can feel that incredible sense of excitement and awe that a big fish brings. I think we are in total agreement here, I just didn't word it well.

I've watched this thing 3 or 4 times in the last week. You can really feel the sense of accomplishment from Jason...here's a guy who's probably as jaded as any experienced big carp European fisherman, completely speechless and in disbelief. Love it!
I did some digging around and from what I can see, the world record common (as in non-mirror) is 84 lbs., so he was THAT close.

Excellent production values and nice fish all, I'm definitely at the next one. I'd prefer we set one up in January or Feb. during BIG BUFF season.

That's one big purty mirror there, congratulations.

Nice haul Jim (and wife)!

Heck of a beautiful fish Josh, congrats!

Great video. I've been out to that big flat place some call Texas. I'll be back.
Let me know when you do...I'd love to properly share a bank with any of you Jawja boys.
And I LOVE the video! Great to see some familiar faces and the rough fish getting some positive media attention.

Man those are awesome looking specimens, very very healthy.
Good luck on the 40!

Outstanding read.
Unfortunately, I fear the comment section will become the usual "my grandpa said carp are ruining American fisheries so it has to be true" stuff. It's already started, though the one naysayer is more level-headed and well-spoken than most. Kudos Paul on an excellent and thoughtful response.

A bunch of beautiful fish there. The koi is awesome as has been established, but the rest are that deep bronze color I love too.
Well done guys!
