  2. To every one that turnd up it was a quality day on the bank and only one thing really toped it off was that it was spent with quality people,

and for thos of you i spoke with about setting up a sesh ..... feel free to give me an e-mail when you can.....

  3. Joel,

    Sounds great man.

I know I would like to read or hear about the story.

    Keep us informed,

    Andy

Andy thanks for the Imput ..... As of yet tho he's not to sure on details or what states he is going to be passing by..... altho im sure he's set on a quick stop on the St larry.

I just thought that it could be a good artical with a CAG member from each state thay go to could meet up with them and wright up the expireance, then NACA pice them to getheri the order of the arivle and then state by state.... then to the departure! could be a great reed with some great photos and also a great time wich we as CAG would have been a part of helping them to do it.

Again just my viues & thoughts....

    thanks again andy.

  4. im not to sure if this is the right place to post but i had a small chat on line and recived an e-mail from Adrien Morel .... he has siad that he has tryed to post to the forum but haveing problems (something about it being restricted?)

so i tould him i would post up e-mail i recived from him for every one to read in his thanks for every one being so open to help him and his partner out.

    Hello to you in USA!

Thanks for your nice email :D

The St Lawrence river seems to be a very nice place to fish and we will probably stay a moment in the area. Thank you very much for your proposition. For the moment we are trying to save some money. Then, I will try to contact all the nice people that want to help us and organize the trip a little bit more.

I do not know why but I cannot post any message on the forum. It tells me that I do not have the permission... I will try to register other time.

    Have a good day!

    Adrien.

So after talking with Adrien i found out that he went to school just out side from where my dad only lives minets away, by that time he also tould me it was 4.00 in the morning in france and that he was off to bed( i should have thought about it but it missed my thoughts compleatly) so we have made the point to talk more about his stay in the usa over the net on a later date.

Looks like the St Larry tales have stolen another hungry Carp angler...... all good tho.

And really looking forwards to helping them out on the trip with in the USA if all goes well.

Another intresting thing for Adrien could be to also include him and his partner in to an artical in the NACA for there stay. dont know if any one has the time to be trecking along with them the hole time or some of it to document it for an artical (my hand is raised for it - if it becomes some thing that may be posible). it could turn out a quality read and add a grate twist to there trip......

    Just my viues & thoughts.

    thanks all.

  6. I think it's a great idea too. I'm ignorant here, who is the Minnesota or Midwest regional chair? I bet he or she would have some great input on a likely person. I gotta think that the popularity of carp on the fly is gonna go up big time, not only among dedicated carpers, but also trout anglers who don't want to fork over gas money to speed across state for 14" fish. For a while I thought it might plateau, but it still seems to be gaining momentum.

7-8 years ago when you did an internet search for carp on the fly or any of its variations, there was an article by Dave Whitlock and a couple other odd hits. Nowadays it's packed with good solid info, dedicated fishers and inovative tiers. The forum here is lively and active and although I have yet to attend any fish ins or events, I would love to have the chance to share and learn from other organized carpers.

    Eric,

The momentum fly carping has will no doubt keep it growing, altho it is not my prefird method of carping. it does however open alot of doors for fellow anglers from all walks of life to try some thing new and most definatly some thing with a chalange. i do bleave that putting some one/ people in place will be a great benerfit to the sport.

    again...... im all for it.

  7. I don't think the link is working, so I am pasting Ray's suggestion here:

With the ever increasing popularity of fly fishing for carp here in CAG I was wondering if the need for each state or region to have a chairperson for fly fishing would be appropriate. Maybe a co-chairperson to take the duties of the fly fishing at fish ins. Even hold special fish ins for the fly chuckers of the state or region. This is just an idea and I would like to hear what everyone else thinks about it positive, neutral, or negative so please chime in. Thank you!

    Ray

    This is great.

This will be my first year Fly carpin :D i havebeen getting in some practice with the kings&steelhead... i think it would be great to have a chair/co-chair/genral go to purson for the duties of this.......

And as it is becoming a huge positve alternitive to regular capring all the more reason to have some one/people to look up to for the needs and happenings of the sport would also create a thicker comunity with in the carping world.....

    just my imput.... Thanks

    Joel - NY.

  8. i am posting this fish. Minnowmagnet caught this yesterday. i am pretty sure this carp has quite a bit of koi blood in him! look and the butterflyish tail, and the long barbels! :D :D

    Great catch Minnowmagnet! :D

    post-1862-1205191625.jpg

    the topic is Here

    thats a young sporn there......

probably just a deformed tail and if the fish came from a dark water may be the barbels grow longer to feel about more than the norm.....

    nice fish all the same.

    good job!

  9. I haven't been logging on lately but I am sure glad I did today. I was all set to put a little "get well" package together for him because I felt so bad about the accident, especially because it was a drunk driving accident. I have had past tragedy with a friend who was on the losing side of a dd accident. Now to find out this is some kind of hoax makes me feel kind of stupid. I mean was the whole dead drunk driver thing a lie too?

I want to thank Louis for bringing this to light on the open forum, everyone should know what the deal is here. I am sure there are many times people in this club should be exposed for less than ethical dealings so we all know what is going on. I am a little less forgiving of liars and thieves than some other people are so I am pretty put out by this.

I am ready for the slams, so let them fly.

    Ed

    Hay Ed.

can i get a get well soon package!!!!! i have had the worst headach for the last day now .

    lol

if every one was to be true there world would be a better place!

  12. i feel that some thing should be done about this.

why should a fish perish just because of its size!

if you are to catch it .. just release it and let it go on its way.

its madness i tell ya . just madness!!!!

so did this fish really have its life ended on the bank ????????

  14. when i moved out hear in late 2006 i would never have known that the carp fishing would lead me in the direction it has.

This is a small section from my diary/book. one of the most memrable times of my life fishing since being hear in the USA.it is how ever only a small part. but yet one of the most meaningfull and rememberble to me.

    last year/early summer.

    thank you & enjoy.

"Summers almost hear I’m thinking… As another eight inches of snow fell again last night, and to my surprise this morning we had another two inches fall.

The anticipation of the new line peeling off my spool is what I’m really longing for now, And one other thing. How much longer do I have to wait? How much longer will it be until I can have that mysterious feeling of having that first take, you know the one of not knowing how you got from your bivvy to a standing with your rod bent, the fumble and thrill of trying to get out of your sleeping bag in the pitch black while struggling to find you head lamp. im sure we have all been there!

I can hear the place calling me out there you know, I stair and see visions of monstrous carp shouldering out of the windy water brake. There big dark eye’s asking for only a bed of maze, with a hair of popped up boilie is all it seams they ask for.

I can not remember the last fish I encountered from there but it was a memory that I’m sure only the fish has been left with. How much time will it take for the ice to melt away and leave me that open space of water of witch I am so fond of? I don’t know why I have missed that place so much. I mean it’s not like its going any place some time soon. May be I just feel it’s a missed opportunity. As minuets pass in to the hours I’m left thinking…. Thinking about how this year could be the one, the one that brings me to the golden scaled goddess I had seen, held and released back into the perfectly clear gravel bottomed water she came from.

It’s all ways been a thing of mine to not follow up on or to target the same fish but this fish was different, it was the first US carp I had ever caught. And I was blown away by the fact that it was a forty.

As soon as I had slipped her back in to the warm water from the mat it hit me. I had to sit. And for the first time in my life I had come to a venue that was at least half the size of my home town and managed to take a fish from it.

Glory struck it could not get any better than this But it did… my wife was there to whiteness and share the whole experience with me. my arms and legs where almost over the shakes at this time, And as the bow waves went as long as they did wide from her shoulders and back piercing the sheet like glass texture witch then split in to what seamed like ten thousand pieces.

Clouds of silt exploding up from where the battle had taken place and now blood worms and grubs began to take float within the 3 powerful writhes of her huge rudder witch sent out swirls that could spin for days.

As soon as I had sat to take a breath. I had finally realized just what had taken place, I sat back in to my chair and raised my arms in to the air and let out a shout of joy, while my eye’s closed I cold see the under belly on her as she rolled away one last time before coming over the lip of the net. My arms still raised I said to my self “I have done it!!!”, then again out loud “I have done it”. “Did you see that” I asked my wife as if to ask if I really just had that fish on the bank. With a smile she turned from reading her book and replied, yes and how amazing it was to see.

With in that hour my gear was all packed up the car loaded and ready to make the drive home with the digital camera by my hand. I was some what sad. Not because I had to leave but because I was left with the feeling of not knowing if I would encounter such a fish again from this water.

The end of last year came round rather quick, so quick that I soon began thinking about how’s, when’s and where’s. Work had picked up at this time and what with Christmas almost knocking on the door there was no time for me to get a single line wet. At this point my wanting to get bank side had grown short and needless to say the countless hours of rig prep and unknown amounts of tied hair rigs had just left me wanting more and I was not going to get it. At least not for another three or four months.

This wait has almost to me been like trying to hold your breath until you cant hold it any longer and no for the record I have not tried this but if any one was to I’m sure the feeling that they would get from it would be close to the feeling I felt towards the beginning of this year. Although at this point in time I can’t say I’m happy waiting until the conditions permit for me to do so, ”fish that is” I will just have to sit back and let mother nature do its thing.

And the time between now and then I think the amount of thoughts that will pass me by will no doubt trigger me in to trying some thing different and create another opportunity in to finding the golden scaled goddess again. "

    End.

i am still yet to encounter the same fish . who knows i might not ever again. but the hope that carp fishing brings to me i bleave i will see her again.

thanks and hope you enjoy reading this small section of my fishing exspirence since living in the USA.

    tight lines to all.
