  1. Hi there all,

Hope all is well with every one and that were all getting our gear sorted for the early spring ice out with in NY.

So as the title implys Rob and my self have been nocking a few ideas abouts and feel we should start the year out with a shirt for our state, Along with the NEW and loved CAG logo fronting them.

To save on the agrivation of not being able to make every one happy (due to alot of options on a shirt) we have desided to go with a very basic design that consists of the new cag logo incorporated with the outline of the state of NY. and some text, This will most likely be on a forrest green 50/50 cotton polo,

We have done this in the past and due to timing and funds at the time for most it was not posible. So we are gonna give it another go and see what comes of it.

I will leave this posing open for the next 3 Weeks.

during that time a show of hands with a post like the following will be fine.

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    Name: Joel harber

    size: large

    Quantity: 2

    E-mail: Joelharber@gmail.com

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

In the next day of so i will post up the shirt design ( front & back) and cost per shirt with shipping. shirts will probably go out via USPS on a flat rate, as this will be the cheepest option.

if you have any other concerns please PM me.

    Many thanks.

    Joel

  3. And in regards to the A650IS i should have said there's no native RAW support. The lack of RAW may be a non-issue eventually, as free hacked firmware is available (and altho warranty killing) to get DIGIC II cameras to do RAW. DIGIC IIII is RAW enabled. But Canon does so well in the lower ISOs that you get a great image "in camera." And this new machine has dialed back the NR so that there's more detail in the higher ISOs. when i had it I could have never imagined using ISO3200 (they've dubbed it 'cell phone') but the usability of ISO 800 is remarkable. This is from someone who hates noise and tends to stick with ISO80 whenever possibleif using a compact camera. in comparison It's not an F-series Fuji in the low light, but in some ways, it's better. There's more detail and depth than the Fuji with a bit more noise. But no Fuji has the picture quality at lower ISOs in normal light like a Canon. This A-series takes the best images yet from any A-series camera -- and at 12mp! All the feature improvements are very, very welcome (big zoom and IS) however i gues what i was getting at is the fantastic image quality is really the bottom line with this camera hence the reason i put it out there for UKtim to know about all its meganess!

    Cheers.

  4. IS not for carp photo's.... ? say's who????? IS can be used regardless of the situation.

while on a tripod the IS system is totally USELESS..... not true!!

who is this guy...... Phill Bloom?

Any way!! I shoot manual with a 7D . I am happy with my results. no (as you put it) training needed thak you all that same.

UK tim was just looking for some info so i offered info.

no need to get in to all the facts of a,b,& c! lol.

Shoot your own photos, * i do* its a totally no brainer when you have a T&S lcd, with or without the remote * its totaly a no-brainer to pic up any camera turn it on an shoot! lol. regardless of a remote!

  5. If you can get your hands on theCanon A650IS this is a gem of a compact camera. i had it for a while befor i started shooting with slr's, it did the job. im sure you can find them if you look abouts. you only have to read the rave reviues on it to know its a top bit of kit. has veri angle lcd, along with self timer that is custom from how many shots it takes to how many seconds inbetween each shot. and how many second be for the shots are started. af (auto foucs) system on it is killer. along with manual side of things, probably one of the best user friendly IS camera in there range and it has the digi 4 chip, its a sure winner in the upper end of the compact cannon range. you could easly put it up there with the G series of compacts and not only that it has a nice removable ring coller to attatch canon or non canon lens's!!!!

just a bit cheper than the G series. but has the same punch to it.

Edit: for got to add it shoots in RAW+Jpeg, and PAL & NTSC video just to add to the meganess of it all!!!!

  6. I'll be there. No need to pre-bait Kissena though! It's not big enough, no need to fill them up before we get there.

yeah Kev is probably right. last time i fish it the fish where ready for a single tiger tiped with a bit of rubber corn,

i didnt even put in any free offerings, and even got 2 off the top, on bread,

im goona bring my flote/waggler gear this time. should be fun,

  7. I had situation like this last year during Wisconsin Carp Championship.

I cast my rig to the water with very Hi Visible Bright Yellow solar pop-up on the hair, I did not put rod on my pod yet than I got run :)

I am not sure if bait hit bottom already, but run was immediately.

same thing happens in B-ville - NY

    nuts!!!

    nice footage!

  8. Hi all, my name is joel harber. I live in upstate New York. just side of albany, some of you probably know me as a past NY state chair, however i had to step down due to family issues,

i have been fishing from the age of 10-11years old . i grew up fishing old estate lakes and quiet canals in the depths if Kent - England,

from the age of about 14 i fished alot of match fishing waters and even fished in the english open for the county of Kent,

i left the match scene around the age of 17 and from then on out it was carp angling all the way.

i have fished all over england and europe from france, spain, germany, austria,Italy along with other contrys, and have had my self some super fish along the way.

I prefur to fish long seshsions of 3 days to a week or more. but have been known to pop out for short day trips.

i prefur to fish lakes of lager size, and try to aim my pursuit of carp towards the bigger fish normaly aiming my time spent in the same swim/spot for many months of the season this normaly resulting in finding out where the fish are and feeding regiments.

I have to say i Love carp angling with every thing i have, and would never leave it behind me. I joined CAG just over 4 years ago after conecting with a few other carp anglers,

i have enjoyed my stay while i have been here and i look forwards to see CAG grow over the next few years.

    Cheers.

    Joel.

  9. Little eartly to say :) but i will try my best

    Rob,

    Nice one matey,

Never to early to plan a fish in. probably better to sort it early than late. if there is any thing i can help you with let me know.

im sure I'll be up for it for the day.

thanks for your hard work on getting this sorted.

    cheers.

    Joel.
