Looks like a killifish to me.

Great story.Your posts are always a treat . Thanks. Maybe they'll make bite alarms in the same pitch as dog whistles. No need for loud squeeks and squawks your faithful carphound will alert you.

Nice looking mirror Mark. Yep there's nothing like a day of freezing rain to make ya look forward to spring. Valley Inn, Inland Waters, Lasalle, and Pier 8 are all waiting for us.

Way to go Scott. You are a true carp hound. Can't wait to see your article in NACA. I'd also like to see your answers to Sask's questions.
-
please excuse the one handed typing here---
the local guys who tank carp use the opposite approach, they use chum---thats the us term--that will attract fish, and make them work for a meal. small particles-------never ever whole grain corn.
then, when they drop a hook bait with some substance in the mix, the fish have something to go after.
t
Could you explain further please?

A couple of fine lookin carp there. Does that one put in the lead for King of the Ramp?
-
They are generally quite greedy, its just a matter of getting their heads down.
Greed needs to overcome fear before the heads go down. Spooked animals don't feed well.
-
Congradulations Brid and many more to come I'm sure.
-
well, you mean something like this?
Wow, wassershwine!
-
Are they greedier before they eat your bait or after they have sampled some?
-
I think that what you are using for a hook bait would determine the composition of your ground bait. If your using maise put some maise in it, if your using boilies put some bolies in it.

Welcome. There's a lot of great information on the website and lots of experienced anglers willing to share that knowlegde.

Great fish Mario and excellent pics. The one shot really gives meaning to the name bucketmouth.
