After I started using the QD's I found myself adjusting the front spool on the baitrunners because I was stuck in QD mode when playing a fish . I really like the QD's. I have only found QD on big pit reels?? If I could find smaller spooled reels with a QD feature I would be happy. I agree with Tribal regarding the baitrunner 2 spools. I'm not down with them either

Thanks everyone. I decided to make another pair with department store items. They are basically similar to the first set but with a few adjustments and tweeks.

Here's what I used:

No glue was used to attach the clips or bite alarm attachments. I just heated the shrink tube with a lighter.

The chain was also connected to the line clip with shrink tube.

To attach your line you slide it between the pen shaft and the cap clip like in the photo above. If you want to add weight to the hangers pop off the cap and add it. If you leave a longer section of clear pen shaft you can add isotopes ( glow sticks).I like to use brand made hangers and bobbins but it's cool to fish with your own D.I.Y tackle and baits and catch.
