  1. hello all, my name is kyle and ive been carp fishing since i was around 14 y/o. been around c.a.g for about five years and have fished with some of the best guys in the sport, as far as im conseried. i mainly fish the hudson river and large ny reservoirs. ive fished conn and mass and look foward to going back out that way again soon. anyone around my way feel free to get in touch with me for a session always enjoy new friends.

  2. i always thought mid day with cold weather, but last december we caught at night, early morning, and when ever else, i geuss if you got the bait out there they stick around. not every deep wather either, maybe 8 - 12 feet in a very large river.

  3. start with a good depth and bottom, sand or gravel. start baiting the spot up every other day or so. seems like this fish have there mind set on one type of food and your gonna have to get them used to baits. id start with around a 8 inch leader, size 6 hook, 3 - 4 ounce lead.

  4. 20+ hudson

  5. that's crazy! where you using bunker-flavored maize...i whipped up some oyster / anchovy boilies this past weekend...maybe I'll catch a striper

Chris, im glad its getting abit chilly out, those bollies are not something you wanna forget about in your truck in the middle of august.

  6. yeah usally not for a few more weeks. but two weeks ago a 15 pounder was caught right around you, but the guy said he hasent caught one since, only snappers as far as i know.

I don't think so, because when I told my striper/bluefish fishing buddie ...he was surprised that I'd got one this early ??
  7. depending on the snags, the inlines may just cause you to lose every fish, ive been down that road. you can get grippers to put on lead clips, i have fished spots that with inline you will get snagged on every fish, with the clips, you may lose lead, but not fish and whole rigs.

  8. the river i fish has heavy currents and a tide, so a be ball of method seems to always do well, spooning out some bait helps, but im never sure where it goes. if you have ledges and anything that can slice you off, you may wanna tie one 20 feet of braid, 50-65 pound should be good. get lead clips so you dont gotta worry about your lead getting caught on the snags when the fish run, the lead will just drop off. a 3 or 4 ounce lead should be good. on the rivers with method i use short leaders orf 50 pound power pro, around 5 inchs, and i always use a bolt rig.

this is just what i do, hope it helps.

  9. the pond i fished was well of the road and ive never seen anyone fishing there the few times i went, its in the woods, no signs of ppl fishing there at all, the carp took sweetcorn after it was in the water only a few minutes, i treid chuming the top with bread they had nothing to do with it, but yes if ppl hangout there and feed ducks and whatever, it should be good.
