  1. so i went out to catch a few smalmouth, there where carp moving through this one spot, sooo for haha's i tossed a roostertail to one, pulled it about two feet in front of him and it looked like he went up for it, maybe not, hmmmm...another cast, closer to him this time, he went for it hard, 3rd cast, he went for it again, water was only about a foot deep so i let it hit the bottom and he sucked it up, this is the second carp i have caught on a roostertail. caught him on a 6'6 meduim action with 6 pound test, so much fun...i also forgot how much fun hand landing carp is.

DeanO, i forget to turn my alarms on ALOT, but its better then forgeting to turn on your baitrunners...

  3. did she come in real easy the second time? Doug and I had that happen in Bville a couple of times and they just came right in the second time.

the first time she fought amazing, second time id say 70% of the first, but all this fish in this river fight amazing, i had around 10 fish that night, the next day i had a sore shoulder, and a bruise on the inside of my arm from the rod, worth it all..

  4. yeah float fishing or free lining is the key here, the sweetcorn dident stink at all, its very brushy around the whole pond and not much room to fish so a 8 1/2 foot rod and a small pack does well, not a pond for the 12 footers, pods and rucksack.

  5. i got to a new pond i have only fished twice before, the first time i learned that it has one nasty bottom, all my baits where smelling of muck, the second time was for about an hour. so today i got there , put the float out with some sweetcorn, tossed some out, and this koi liked that idea. my first koi, weighted a wopping 5.2, i really could care less about the weight though i was super happy with it just being a koi. i also caught 4 carp 5 - 10 pounds.
