im sure he doesnt catch like that every day, i look at it like the waters there are mostly all public, becauce where i live everything is posted.

Hi Steve,
1997 I managed to log 1,973 carp in about 950 carping hours. People who know where I fish know that's not all that unheard of.
2005 I managed 1,203 carp. 800 is typical year. I've been working a lot this year unfortunately....
people would hate scott if they new the waters around there, lots of waters and pretty much all pubic and loaded with fish, i watched scott catch 6 or 7 carp in about 20 minutes. do the math
and who cares about the weight people post of fish they no the truth and gotta live with it.

no val when we got there the wind had picked up and was in our face but they where on freeline.

got to vinnys on monday at around 10:30 monday, after some talk we hit a swim, this was my first Massachusetts fish and was caught with in about a half hour of fishing hit the scales at 27.11 . vinny went swiming a little because we left the net in the trunk. we where both a little shock to say the least.
we fished a little while longer and no more fish so we baited a little and went to the boat ramp and vinny caught this guy.
the boat ramp was a little slow so we went back to the lake, vinny had fished this lake a few times and was really wanting a fish this time and in about 10 minutes he had him, at 23 even
about a half hour went by and i got a fish on, fish was fighting good but with the sun down and choppy water we dident see the fish till it was at our feet and made a massive roll, me and vinny both saw it and vinny grabbed the net saying " thats a big fish " vinny netted him, a few pictures then in the sling, scale hit 29.2 my new pb
dark came and we went and got some food and talk about the days fish, over and over and over, tuesday we get up early to hit the river shorty after scott found us and we got this double right off
vinny got a bunch of fish heres one of the bigger ones
then we went to the newly named trap door swim
we fished till dark and caught a bunch of fish, vinny with the biggest at 20 even and my biggest at 17.8, then a stubby vinny got, and a carp with one big tail
we went back in the morning i caught 3 little guys and vinny caught 5 the biggest at 19.10
then back to NY at around noon. a big thanks to vinny for having me up and getting us into fish, and im speaking for vinny but im sure he agrees a big thanks to scott from us both for all the help. all the fish excect on the river where caught on a new bait we have where testing, market basket king white, in two and a half days we caught around 30 fish four being 20's

yea i have always found that cruising carp are a bit hard to get to eat, look for them tearing up the bottom, or bubbles, thats usally when there feeding.

alot of old timers call mirriors leathers, atleast around here, a fisherman is the quickest way to find out if there are carp in a water, most bass fisherman will tell you if they see carp cuz they really dont care, local baitshops are good for it.

every crawfish fly i see is never the same, just do a search for them and find one you like and go from there.

backleads should help with fish tangling in the other lines.

i agree with the 3500s, i got them on some 8 foot m actions and they are awesome. baitrunners have never failed and the drags are amazing.

i fish a river of medium size also, its loaded with carp, but the biggest this year was only a touch over 15 pounds, i always think that the lack of big fish was over popultion, but there is plenty of food, so im still not sure, and i have tryed everything and it does not matter if i am useing a 20mm bollie, 4 peices of maize, a 15mm bollie or a singe peice of maize, i still catch the same size fish...thats just my findings

try useing just the boiled maize with no flavor, or try a different flavor, they all dont work in every water.

wedsday night me and my friend went out, the river was up alot from the ran, i caught the first fish here pictured then i let my friend who just started carp fishing take the next run..well it was a mirror, i have never caught one outta this river, seen one caught or heard of one being caught, ive been fishing this river for as long as i can remember and have only seen about 3 or so, i was happy for him but he has no clue of what a rare catch he had.

thought id post some pictures nothing of any size but a fun morning with some hard fighting river fish. all caught on 8f M actions and 3500b's witch makes it all the more fun. tutti frutti maize and a small pack of method was all that was needed.

check out cabela's wuppin sticks, they have alot of different sizes, and there cheap, like 25 - 30 bucks and if there ever brake they will replace them. i got 4 of them can't say nothing bad. uglysticks are great too but i never used any of the heavier models but heard only good thing about them. but they also come in alot of different sizes.
