Good looking crew there Charley, but are you sure you didn't sneak that butt-ugly Carp out of a paylake.
That is a paylake Dale.

For anybody that hasn't fished with me...let me tell ya about my boys. They cast, bait up, unhook, net, weigh and photo all without my help. They are absolutly addicted to carp fishing. This is the third year that they have fished with me full time and are great anglers.
Heres my biggest of the day. A 15.9......

What'd ya use for bait?
Just noticed looking at the first picture....if you look on the table, there is a can of corn, a bottle of Superior B,N,V, (what I ALWAYS dip my corn in) and a couple bags of bread under the table. You can definatly tell Im a semi-retired paylaker. Have to watch where the pics are snapped.

Popped up sweetcorn on a hair, with a whole piece of bread, crust and all, moulded around my lead with about 10 kernals of corn inside. Couldn't BUY a fish on pack at this paylake for some reason.

Hi Charley,
Now that's what I call fishing and why I'm taking up Carp fishing since I am semi-disabled and use a scooter to get around.
I need to find me a setup like yours near grand Rapids Mi..with a river walk.
I think I would have trouble landing a fish with such a steep bank.
How do you keep your st up from being pulled into the river?
When you fish 3 rods is it better to use the same bait at 3 different distances, or 3 different baits at the same distance?
Hey Gramps,
I use baitrunner reels. Basicly they have 2 drags. Your main drag you can set to fight the fish, and a secondary drag you can lighten up and it allows the fish to run, and not pull your rods in the water. Just flip the baitrunner switch to engage the main drag and the fight is on.
I usually spread my baits out at different distaces, and then if I start to catch consistantly at a certain range I switch all my rods to that distance.
Surely there is a few lakes around you that have handicap accesible fishing piers. Sometimes those are the best places to set up on a lake.

Nothing like a double "pull-down"!

Nice Mirror!

Could it be because someone just made a quarter of a million for a trash fish? I love it.

Great Fish Charley!
Even though I only met you very briefly I was glad I got the chance .
Come to DC sometime and fish with me man!
Wish we could've chatted a little longer Pat. Can't make the DC fish-in but Gilbert and I are planning to make a weekend trip over there sometime this summer.
