  1. I got lyme disease from a tick while stalking last year in THICK reeds. 2 suggestions, long thin material pants in the summer with some kind of neoprene wading boot, use packaging tape to close the gap from pant to shoe. Use velcro strap to keep long sleeve shirts tight at the wrist. This is what I had done when I got it, and that sucker STILL got in, bit me right where my tank top material starts under my armpit. Ive also heard a few drops of lemon oil works, as well as garlic tablets. Sweat carries the taste/smell, and the ticks as well as other biters don't like it.

Good luck, its a tough battle, but I can tell you firsthand YOU DO NOT WANT TO MESS WITH LYME DISEASE. I almost died in the ER..........NOT COOL

  2. well its been a week of work and rest since Bville. I finally got a chance to sit down and look at my pictures from the trip. It was an INCREDIBLE experience, met some new friends and got a chance to spend some time with some old friends and the regular gang. Our stretch of the river was very slow to say the least, but teams picked away at fish that were in the area. I saw fish activity MAYBE half a dozen times throughout the 50hrs, compared to the next day at other pegs where the fish WERE ALL OVER, and very active. Ya can't catch em all, all the time. I have some AWESOME HD video from the redmill inn dam that will take another week or so to get edited, but for now here's a whole SLEW of pictures. I will DEF be doing this event every year its held.

  3. Would like to fish the TOC in my homestate this fall. If I can find a partner and get registered I may spend a "little" more time on the banks of the Ct river than I have in past summers. Its still quite a few months away, but I'd like to get the ball rolling now. Plenty of room at my house for the night before the tourney and the night after if someone wants to hang around and fish an extra day.

  4. It was great seeing you again greg, youv'e come A LONG WAYS as far as carp fishing goes in just a couple years. I remember that first trip like it was yesterday. I myself have never seen so much carp activity in such a small stretch of river, it was LOADED to the hilt with weighable tourney fish. A very tricky swim with A LOT of leads lost until joel stopped by. I'll be making my way north to visit a couple times this summer/fall. Nice new debris pb as well :) it'll be happier in the mud puddle. I still think we should have put some antiseptic on the hook hole :D

  5. Paul, I talked to some of the event organizers (baldwinsville guys as well as the mayor.) they will be putting on a tournament on a somewhat "smaller" scale next year. Hopefully CARP will pick it back up after the WCC is over with. An incredible town to visit, and an incredible fishery, theres NO WAY they can let it go.

  6. pegs 3 and 4 were ON FIRE TODAY! I broke off ALOT of rigs, and we landed over 30 fish. I fished half hearted wanting more to relax than anything. Great seeing snagmagnet after 2 years, who came up to fish with us for the day. 9 hours with as many fish as we had, we might have done okay in the tourney if we didn't have a peg in the "dead" stretch. Beautiful day, LOTS OF FISH, and our runner trevor came through with the high hand for the day, and tied SM at 23lbs for big fish. MONSTER MAIZE wasn't even hitting the bottom before the fish were on it cast after cast. LOTS of pictures.

  7. just finished dinner/drinks with all the "big wigs" A LOT of laughs and some great grub in bville.......Now for some sleep and 50+hrs more of fishing, I NEED A RUNNER!

Peg 11, some top notch guys, got to see the purse of shame, as well as the net. You guys were def on your A+ game no doubt about it, the fish were elsewhere though. I would say stop into Ct on your way home, but we won't be there, welcome anytime you might be passing through

It kills me to have a room at the red mill looking out onto the river WITH DISCO LIGHT SHINING FROM THE BRIDGE.

  8. In our stretch, it didn't matter how much you knew or what gear/bait you had with you, the numbers just weren't there. Congrats to the winners. I got some INCREDIBLE video of fish stacked up at the red mill dam, some 30's and 40's included. It'll be a bit until the video is edited.

lee says he has big fish as of 2 or 3pm at 32lbs, and still in the running for big 4 with another biggie tonight.

  10. pulled 3 in overrnight, no monsters. what a storm we had, stayed partially awake all night, dozed off here and there, awoke to a rod going off but no alarm singing. Had to reel the wrong way until tt awoke from a peaceful slumber. Comeon fat bottom girls......

  11. well it was a GREAT opening ceremony, and pub visit afterwards with some great freinds. The morning has started off VERY slow at peg 15, hoping for some action as the afternoon goes on. I forgot that I can only upload MONSTER pictures so I'll have to add em all when I get home. Good luck everyone.

  12. Steve, make sure you THROUGHLY inspect what lee gives you. Hes taken to some DRASTIC tactics over the past few days to make me tired for the tournament. The latest is 5am phone calls for no reason knowing full well NO ONE CALLS ME BEFORE 8AM. Lee, I may send trev over to your peg for a plate of fixins.
