Neither Decker and Ladybird are “easy” waters. For a beginner I would suggest the day use area at Emma Long Metro Park on Lake Austin.

Rule under discussion should say "Must be in the same region" not state

I have no issues adding my fish to the leaderboard, however I don’t see how to see how I am doing either nationally or regionally. Is there a separate link to just view the leaderboard

Please post entries with the following information:

B. The weight of the captured carp in pounds and ounces. If it’s a mirror, let me know.

Down here in Austin we cant even fish the local lakes due to the serious flooding - looks like Big 4 will not be from Austin lakes
-
Here in Austin we have Ladybird lake which used to have a bigger head of bigger fish. That has changed somewhat over the past few years as the closing down of the power stations has meant less water flow. The water for Ladybird comes from Lake Austin and that water comes from Travis. The water outlet from Travis is at the base of a 600 foot dam and thus always cold. It used to be here in the early summer water temps did not get much over mid 60s and even in later summer low 70s water temp were the norm. With the reduced flows we now see low 80s in the summer. Average fish size had decreased and we caught a few single figure fish a couple of years ago. The past two winters have been very cold for this area and fish sizes have crept back up a little.

One of the reasons not mentioned Bob is the success of the spawn. If the water temperature is warm enough over the winter for a significant portion of the summer to survive there will be more fish and the same amount of food. Overpopulation is always a contributing factor in fish size.

How have the numbers been at srv?
i read that you guys are using the better producing pegs. I think the 1 peg at the baseball fields has produced more then that one... is that one not available?
i appreciate what you guys are doing Dont get me wrong, But i have seen some of the spots you guys posted not produce much or nothing at all.
I would hate to have traveled 100s or even 1000s of miles to be miserable bank side.
i would have not brought this up but since it was said i needed to ask.
A few year ago my partner went from no fish on day one to 5th fish at SRV. We had three big 30s and three low 30s in the first 3 hours
