  1. That place is very special to me Keith...:D

Me too Scott - I just wish I could have landed that beast I hooked into there on the last afternoon of the TCC. Hey, wanna try upping your PB buff a bit with me post event?

  2. We are going to cut down some trees !!! :D:D:D

Oh good that means some nicely wood chipped swims. Are we getting H&C running water piped so I can make a good cup of coffee instead of the local crap, as well as 110v AC to run my telly?

  3. Some sweet looking mirrors Keith!

SB - If you want to fish after the ATC, I'd recommend Emma Long Park on Lake Austin. You can camp there, unlike Towne, so you can fish it all day and all night for as long as you want. The carp don't get as big, but there is a lot more of them, and a lot of really big buffalo.

Yeah there are some big buffs at Emma Long however they are just as big in Towne - three captures over 60lb in the last 3 years (not by me) and one just under

  4. yes,,,,there are 5 slots left,,,,last year the sell out point was 45 teams,,,this year the peg coordinator, has assured me that we can have 50, which will eliminate some of the old troublesome spaces, and replace them with new ones,,,,,

I have assurances from the Parks Department that there will be NO buoys left from the rowing teams !!!!

all is a go,,,,just pray for nice weather ! :D

Nice weather being 68-75 degrees F and a couple of days of rain :D

I am eager to see how you can fit 50 pegs into 45 from last year and still drop the pegs that rarely produce a fish any year.

  5. We were sitting by the 360 bridge dude, after suffering in the dead zone on day one we got the railway bridge on day two and could not keep lines in the water for more than 10-15 minutes because of the kayaks, canoes and rowers constantly going through them. We pulled out after requesting an alternative swim and one never being found for us, went up to the bridge to find at least two other teams there including Brian

  6. Scott,

Need I remind the audience at home that, during the ATC last year, we landed 21 fish. The other 2 teams (both good teams) who occupied our pegs on the others days managed a total of 3 fish! That peg you say was the only reason we won, yielded a total of 0 fish in 2005 too!

    You do the math...:D

    Majors were also the TCC..:D

Obviously the fish were scared off buy your ugly mug and decide they did not want to risk being seen in public with you again :D

Oh and the peg did not do great the year before either - I would still take it over the pegs I have had the last two years. :D

  7. Yes Sir, Beer bottles and titties!

Now back to fishing. You boys are mighty bold bringing up the LSTT. Let's see now Who took first and who took second overall?

Method Masters are there, job done!

Try finishing in the top 5 in the ATC twice and in the top 10 three more times with one non-event as yeart due to circumstances, then you can start crowing about your Method Master.

  8. Primary factors when taking wind into account regarding carp fishing are:-

    1. Oxygenation
    2. Temperature change (can be negative or positive)
    3. Movement of food
    4. Movement of subsurface layers

    Reasons:-

    1. Single Sitting Satisfaction - The fuller the stomach the more oxygen required. Thus with more oxygen comes the ability to eat for a longer period - given that temperatures are high enough to sustain eating, but that's something completely different
    2. Temperature changes can trigger or turn off feeding
    3. &
    4. Movement of subsurface layers can cause detrius to be moved on the bottom of the lake thus exposing beds of natural food and inducing carp to eat.

    One more thing:-

The direction of the wind will have differing effects dependant on your location. here in California the following applies in Summer (generalization)

    • Northerly - very rare but usually cool and dry
    • Southerly - rare again but generally warm and wet
    • Easterly - warm and dry
    • Westerly - warm and wet

And in Winter (again a generalization)

    • Northerly - Cold and sometimes wet
    • Southerly - warmer and usually wet
    • Easterly - always cold, rarely wet and very rare
    • Westerly - cool and wet

Prevailing weather in my area is normally South to West in the summer and North to West in the winter. We always have onshore winds due to the warm air mass that builds over the central valley and the cold air from the Pacific (kept cold by the Alaskan current running down the coast).

  9. This will be my fourth one. I will have to put off my surgery to fish it, I wouldn't miss it for anything.

I have fished all the ATC's so far - I think maybe Brian Nordberg, Dave Moore, Frank & Narda and Al St. Cyr are the only others to have been to all.

I strongly encourage anyone thinking of attending to do so at your earliest opportunity - I would not miss it for the world.
