  1. My favorite "blank" was the 17 days, 14 hours and approximately 20 minutes in various swims (5 different ones and 7 in total) on Cassien; the blank was comprehensively over, less than 10 hours before we were packing up; with my PB of 57lb+ so was not really a complete blank, but having spent that long waiting it always felt like it was going to be.

  2. I've started the list purge for the upcoming NACA.....

that means if your dues are in the arrears, you have been dropped from the roster... :D

If you are dropped from the Roster, I notify our Discount Vendors...and discounts are discontinued ! :D

then I get to the "MEMBERS ONLY FORUM", and re-do your listing under your name from CAG MEMBER to Guest, or some other such thing that will not allow you to access the members only forum... :D

IN DOING THE RECENT PURGE, ( AND I'LL GET AROUND TO DROPPING DELINQUENTS FROM THE MEMBERS ONLY SECTION TOMORROW) I WAS SURPRISED AT SOME OF THE NAMES....... THAT MORE THAN LIKELY JUST FORGOT TO UPDATE.. :D

So........ if you call a vendor and they deny your discount, or you can no longer access the "MEMBERS ONLY" forums, guess what?????? I DID IT !!!!! :D nothing personal, just doing my job, I can't get out reminders to everyone, I'd like to, but I really do have a day job !!! :D

I can fix it in a heartbeat, once I get your renewal check !!!!

so please don't be PI$$ED off with me......just doing what I have to do, in the only way I know how to do it !!! :D

You still need to talk to me about that membership database dude..

There are a few escapee rainbows in the river but they are so few and far between (and the river is used so much for canoeing and float trips all summer) that fishing for them is not worthwhile. On a few occasion I have floated the river dragging mini spinners I have caught small bass (both smallmouth and largemouth), small rainbows, and a couple of shad.

We do have a Shad run here in the spring, they are crazy fish when on the end of the line.

I am hoping no more rain between now and Sunday as the river will be "right" then.

The river is open access for most of it's length. I can walk down to the bridge to get to the river and walk about 4 miles upstream and closer to 7 miles downstream.

After yesterday evenings rains the river is looking nice and muddy and some of the exposed areas are underwater again. Will need a couple of days for the water to clear a bit and time for the fish to run up from the ocean (maybe by Sunday if there is not too much more rain).

Most of the creeks are inaccesible but they are fishable in a few places.

  5. With the recent rains here the Russian river (which runs through my town about 1 mile from my house), is looking like it's ready for the first steelhead run of the year. We spotted a couple of ospreys near the small dam on the river and they are a dead give away that there are fish running up the river.

May have to get out the float rod and go trot some worms down the riffles soon.

Oh and temps are in the low 50's here so it definitely will not be as uncomfortable as your trip Tomcat.

  6. Missy's was not the only Forty plus caught at the '05 ATC. Vaughan Osmond caught an even larger Forty Plus and managed to set the official TX State record in the process. Mukhtar Farooqi of the TPWD was on hand to verify and weigh the capture. 41 lbs on our scales 41 lb 8 oz officially on the state's scales. That truly set a mark to beat...

This was the same fish that Karl caught a year later during the 2006 ATC to win the Big Fish pot. Just goes to show that Cach & release really does work.

  7. New Memberships and renewals are $25.00 now Keith.....Price of Saudi Boiliers went up.. :D:D

Oh no well I definitely can't afford a whole 25c per week, that means I will would not be able to buy..........

errr not sure what it is I could not buy!!!! :D:D:D

  8. Kristi and I fish four rods when space allows, however we stick to two pods (two rods on each). When we drop down to three (dues to space) we put one on banksticks and the other two on the pod. I would say two pods is definitely the way to go if fishing with a partner as it allows some separation of the rods and can allow fishing a larger bank space.
