  1. Great symmetry, Mark. Well done!--Frank

Thanks Frank....Its all about the symmetry !! I am always impressed by our ability here in dc to fish in the "shadow" of our nations greatest monuments.

  2. and here's an after shot the only carp of the day weighed in at 23 lbs had a number of small blue cats and a channel or two . Caught this on 2 pieces of large pineapple corn at about 11:45 am

  5. Looking forward to seeing everyone again at the DC fall Fish In craig is correct saturday at Haines point from sunup till whenever ( park closes at 1 am ). I will try and stop by in the early morning to make sure everyone is settled in , then i have to go to work :( . but dont worry ill be back for the evening fishing and dinner. Moon and i are going to grill something for all of you to eat . Sunday morning will be at the tidal basin again from sunup till when ever ( again ill be there in the am but alas have to work ) . Fall is a great time to catch at haines point and the basin come join us for good laughs, great fishing, lots of laughs and a chance at breaking your PB which i beleive has happened at just about every fish in held in DC. Try your luck at catching the big 40 that mike and others have caught or even a chance at a 50 plus like was caught in the basin in 1983 :D you may also want to try your luck at some of the massive blue cats that are feeding now in the river Pats been catching some real beauties.

Members and non members welcome bring the family sightseeing , museum hopping , shopping etc are a stones throw from the fishing areas.

im sure there will be a side pot or two for those willing to try and take craig or franklins money ;) my moneys on marlene if she attends B)

  6. Mark.

I understand that your going to bring your (( one )) plastic boilie to get you through the event. Might you share one??

    Tom.

you know i am always happy to share :D since all i have is one i am willing to split it in half, which side do you want right or left ? or perhaps top or bottom :D I am also prepared to soak it for you in either wild river grape , hot cinnamon or cherry. which will it be?

  7. I have fished the event a coupla times and have had a great time doing such . Im thinking that what isnt broken doesnt need to get fixed. the peg draw is just that a draw and it evens the field for everyone as in scenario # 1. scenario #2 is what is happening at the world championship next weekend and while its an interesting way of doing things it will give an advantage to those who have fished the area before two guys from lets say the ukraine first time in america never fished the larry with a tight travel itinerary may

not have time to scout the area would be and will be at a disadvantage to them . keep the peg draw the way its been and in the words of mr big let your skill and bait help make lemonade out of what might be considered a lemon peg. one year tommy and i caught well from what had been considered a dead peg. letting in outsiders is a good thought that will need to be discussed and hashed out as it has been a cag member only event for years .

mick sending gear by ups if you have a good tube is not a problem done it many times ( p.s insure it ) skip the bulky chair items ( buy a 10 buck chair for the weekend when you get there go with goal post set ups and put the net handle in with your rods. Tackle reels etc go on plane with you . and for that matter most airlines allow fishing tubes and a tackle bag as one item with no extra charge as its then part of your two bag limit ( you have to read fine print on websites print it out and bring it to airport with you )

if you want it all to go well at the atc make sure you have neil around :D :D

  8. I must admit chaps and chapesses it's pretty quiet out there considering it's just around the corner. Either everyone is busy making last minute changes and tweaks or everyone's gone secret squirrel

In order to get the chat going I thought I'd ask what people's plans are - the US is well represented and most attendees are CAG stalwarts so post up your arrival and departure dates along with where you're staying pre and post tourney and lets see if we can get a little Social going on somewhere.

I'll start us off - Jeff and I are arriving late Thursday night - 22nd - and are staying in one of Terry's lodges at Specialist up until the Sunday a.m.

I'm thinking of arranging a corn boil and BBQ on the Friday night combined with a rig tying session on the porch - I need to run this by Tel but doubt it will be a problem - if anyone is up for it from about 5pm let me know, otherwise lets nominate a bar and knock the head off a few frothies, feel free to shout up fella's :party0012icon:

After the event - we haven't made any plans, probably get drunk and celebrate the win on Friday ( :pcorn: ) then go find a bar on the saturday

So chuck up your thoughts on this thread and lets see what we can make work

Marcus we may be quiet but we are ready and stoked to fish the event!! Tommy and i will be arriving friday afternoon and would be happy to meet up with you all at specialist . well have a turkey fryer on hand for some corn boiling and if you want some BBQ ill even be happy to help out cooking it. we are staying in Massena and will also be celebrating our win there on friday :D and as a fan of tatas im with ya on saturday night!!
