  1. Just wondering how many folks are staying on after the tournament?

Jerome and I will be in Austin and fishing through Tuesday.

..............that gives us five whole days to blank! :D:D

    Iain.

  2. Any special situations please PM me!!!

    Neil

I know you're very busy but I do have a "special situation" you maybe could help with.

In a nutshell, I need someone to arrange for 56 carp anglers to blank on Town Lake in Austin for a couple of days in late March. :D

Jerome Moisand has said he'll do what he can but it would really help if I had someone "local" to sort this out. Any chance?? :D

    Iain.

p.s. Don't tell Scott otherwise he'll shorten my odds and bang goes the "buy a lake and retire" fund.

  3. Iain, this might be a good time to consider 3 peice or telescoping rods..

    :D

    Neil

You could be right. I may look into it after the ATC but I wonder does anybody actually make a 12 or 12.5 foot 3-piece (or telescopic) that can handle 5oz leads and big licks?

    Iain.

  4. Good ole airline prices man, do you get KY with that rate ?

    Dean

That's funny......though for the price I'd at least expect the new "hot stuff" version! :D

From the recent posts it starts to look like all the airlines have changed to this new policy. Looks like my fly-carp touring days will soon be over! :D

    Iain.

  5. This 62 inch length is ridiculous !!!!

Looks like I'll be on the phone today.....doubt if I can make it better, but I sure as heck can try !!! :D

    Thanx Neil

Tell 'em your organising a prestigious nationwide/international fishing tournament......which you are! :D

BTW, at least for American, that 62 inches refers to total (i.e. length+width+height) not actual length. :D

If anyone calls their airline before me ask 'em what they do about skis and snowboards? I can't believe they whack all the winter sports types for an extra $160........it would be commercial suicide in the winter. :D

    Iain.

  6. This sux.

    I agree Scott

In my case I don't even have the UPS option as Tracy and I will be in the UK until a couple of days before Jerome and I fly to Austin. If they really do hit me for $160 then I'll have to pay......but I'll never fly American again and will let them know it.......and I do a lot of longhaul flying! :D

Incidentally, I brought a 7 foot Flambeau tube from Manchester UK to Boston ON AMERICAN AIRLINES earlier this year no problem! Make what you will of that.

    Iain.

p.s. If this becomes general policy on US domestic flights it's majorly bad news for CAG I think.

  7. PS. If any Scientific women are reading this I said scientists are boring and can't dance. Anything else scotty is making up :D

    Ricky

I showed this to my wife, a biology professor and UCSF PhD. She disagreed with your first sentence but thinks you could be on to something with the second. :D

However, she did add that scientists are often reluctant to let go of their microfuge tubes! :D

Sorry you can't make it. :D

    Iain.

  8. I was not able to attend the last  2 ATC's but did keep track of the tally when the event was completed and know more than a few persons who are quite able fishermen who blanked. So take that for what it is worth. Some will be humbled this event as all..

    C'mon Cactus (and UK).

No serious trash-talker gets "humbled" by lack of success.

It's the poor winners I feel sorry for as their trash-talk instantly becomes truth-talk! :D

Takes a well adjusted individual (like me) to deal with that kind of pressure. :D

    Iain

  9. ........from what I hear, all we've got to do is give him lots to drink :D  (I mean just plain old liquids) and make sure he's at a peg that is NOT conducive to taking a WIZ,,, :D  we've got it made in the shade,,,,,I hear, he's got a bladder the size of an acorn !!! :D  :D  :D

( now if that doesn't get him to respond on the TRASH TALK THREAD nuttin will!!!)

    Oh man Neil!!

Discussing the guy's waterworks issues on the forum......now that is trash talk! Maybe a tad below the belt old chap? :D

Herewith some really good reasons why Scott and his Dad will come second in this years ATC:

    1. Past record. Scott's Dad has carried him before and can do it again. :D

    2. Established ability. Scott can wiz all over the opposition (see above). :D

    3. Geography. MA has come first (or second) in all the big contests of the last few months (see earlier post). :D

    4. Problem solving ability. If struggling after the first day, Airforce Bob's mates will airdrop 100,000 tons of ice cubes into Town rendering carp uncatchable to all non-MA teams. Did NOBODY else wonder why Phone didn't sign up to defend his title? :D

    5. Ability to catch in "impossible" conditions. Everyone knows Scott would have won in 2004 had he not been foolish enough to buddy-up with France's answer to Rita Hayworth! :D

    ..........Oops!! :D :D :D:D

    Iain.
