  1. Ok it is time to get this going! It is Team Canada turn to host this event. Any info out there? Who is in charge? Where and when will it be hosted? USA USA USA!!!!

    AF Bob

It's that time of the year again... I would hate for this to become another walk over for the US..

Rumor had it in 2013 that it would be held on the north bank in 2014, so is anyone stepping up or is it too cold to plan anything ?

  2. Neil,

will the peg list be the same as last year or will a revised list be issued ? Be nice to have one available a week or so before if at all possible.

Hopefully there will be a couple of extra's so that the last from the hat will still have some say in which poison they wish to take.

Thanks for all the hard work and we are really looking forward to the event.

  3. If you consider it from a "glass-half-full" perspective, I suspect that more bragging rights would go to a winning team that managed to pull enough fish from a "flyer" on Day ......plus sufficient from a Day 2 swim that had failed to produce on Day 1 when compared to any team that won the random-draws lottery and drew two "flyers"?

Ian, just how bad are you going to feel picking the red hot peg from day 1 on day 2 and then blanking ??

At least with the old system you could always fall back on the luck of the draw as an excuse

  4. I would rather stick to the old format, travelling a long way so I'll add a few days after the event to catch if necessary.

There are swims that don't get pegged for folks to choose on day 2 if they are unhappy with their lot.

Go with big 4 / 5 if you want to give everyone a chance to win but don't handicap those who caught on day 1.

The weather will still have a big say in where the fish will be....

Your CAG forum name: Phil GB
Your state or province of residence: VA

If it differs from your residence,

the state or province of your FFF 2014 venue: Washington DC
Junior (17 or under as of 1/1/14)?: No but wish I was :-)

  6. I prefer the closed tube style throwing sticks. They allow multiple boilies to be loaded which makes baiting up quicker and easier.

Unless I need very long range I will add 2, 3 or even upto 6 boilies at a time.

spombs are ideal for boilies that are misshaped. fragile or too dry to fly properly or need to be dropped very accurately over a specific spot.

I'd agree, certainly not a major issue to have half a dozen / ten boilies in a close group especially if you are using a stringer etc with your hookbait.

  7. Spoon, thanks for the reply. I'll see what the weather forecast for this area and act accordingly. I'll go ahead and make a trip to Tractor Supply Sunday and get ready. The carp I have seen are not real big but you never know when Moby Carp will wander in. I'll be in touch.

Well they may not be too big now but if you keep feeding them they are highly unlikely to get any smaller.. ;-)
