  1. Welcome, it shouldn't really be too critical until it starts getting a whole lot colder, then the warmth of the day will improve the bite in the evening...

More important to obtaining a more consitant bite is to keep feeding the swim on a regular basis even if you don't have time to fish..

  2. I am going fishing for a week on a houseboat for a week and have no way to keep it cool all week. I will try salt but I hope it keeps for a few weeks with no fridge. Brid do you keep your in the freezer or do you just leave it in the bucket for 2 weeks with no fridge. I will try to make some with salt and not sugar.

I have a whole batch in a bucket now that stinks so I hope I save it with some salt. I am soaking a new batch not and I hope salt works.

    Thanks

    Jeff

I would take my cooker with me.. !! soak it in a bucket during the day and cook it in the evenings on the bank (whilst eating dinner).. fresh bait every day and no smell..

  3. elcap,

Ohh sorry, the adventure is taking place in Ontario as in the thread title .... but now, where in Ontario (actually that's not important, I just didn't want to look quite so stupid).

    Phone

New York, hence the two rods...

Great stuff Elcap, I'm impressed that you have time to get the updates online, I'd be sleeping or hauling.. :yourock:

  4. Like is it more of a stalking or do you sit and wait behind alarms like normal carp fishing?

Dave it really depends if there is any weed left in the place.. If the water is gin clear and loads of weed, go scotty and stalk with bread.. If not then fish as you would for normal carp, prebait a bit and then sit it out, they will find the food and can be caught on all normal baits..
