Sounds like a real good weekend, just what it's all about.
Throw in a nice looking PB mirror and you must be wondering why you didn't grab a few lottery tickets..
-
Hope you had a great day Capt..

By the look of the white pipes in pic no 6 it looks like someone has already been there wetting a line, or did they survive the flood ?
-
What a nice fish,
-
You should be able to find some grass carp up there but I'm doubtful of any buffs, we have to head south from VA to catch them..
-
Val, it looks like your licking your lips in that picture....
-
Welcome, it shouldn't really be too critical until it starts getting a whole lot colder, then the warmth of the day will improve the bite in the evening...
More important to obtaining a more consitant bite is to keep feeding the swim on a regular basis even if you don't have time to fish..
-
yep he is doing just that. he cant catch with them but others can. he is having a midlife crisis i think.
Sharing is good for the soul.. WTG CD.
-
Good stuff Capt.. Now what happened to CD's improved perfect plugs ?? was he just handing them out for others to catch with
-
Thanks for sharing, certainly a strange looking critter , but a right lump..
-
Now if we could just get the Welsh away from their sheep the USA wouldn't be at the end of the list..
-
Good stuff Tom, but please note for the term "very old" to be used it really needs to be another five hundred years older..
-
Tends to make one pause, and remember their sacrifice and what's truly important. Thanks for posting Tom.
Very nicely put. I was trying to say something along the same lines..
-
Smells good from here ..... I really like the tatty old plates it was being served on...
-
Good stuff Tom, glad to see you holding that lump, I'm sure it was a true team effort .. Congrats to both you and Colin.

I am going fishing for a week on a houseboat for a week and have no way to keep it cool all week. I will try salt but I hope it keeps for a few weeks with no fridge. Brid do you keep your in the freezer or do you just leave it in the bucket for 2 weeks with no fridge. I will try to make some with salt and not sugar.
I have a whole batch in a bucket now that stinks so I hope I save it with some salt. I am soaking a new batch not and I hope salt works.
Thanks
Jeff
I would take my cooker with me.. !! soak it in a bucket during the day and cook it in the evenings on the bank (whilst eating dinner).. fresh bait every day and no smell..
-
The trick is to actually feed it to the fish... not have it hanging around for days..
If you get half a bucket (or however much you need for a day) started each day and use them within 2 days of starting them soaking / boiling you shouldn't have any issues..

elcap,
Ohh sorry, the adventure is taking place in Ontario as in the thread title .... but now, where in Ontario (actually that's not important, I just didn't want to look quite so stupid).
Phone
New York, hence the two rods...
Great stuff Elcap, I'm impressed that you have time to get the updates online, I'd be sleeping or hauling..
-
Great stuff both of you... That's a new PB mirror isn't it BB ??
All that wandering around the country and you find it in your own backyard..
-
waiting on cooldad to send me pics of the beauties so i can post them up.
hot and beautiful girls. i am telling you what!!!!! whoooooweeee!!!!
Yes but did you catch any fish ? were not worried about any possible divorce material...
-
Like is it more of a stalking or do you sit and wait behind alarms like normal carp fishing?
Dave it really depends if there is any weed left in the place.. If the water is gin clear and loads of weed, go scotty and stalk with bread.. If not then fish as you would for normal carp, prebait a bit and then sit it out, they will find the food and can be caught on all normal baits..
-
There you go, Mickey was just feeding the cat....
Road Trip and a new mini-lump PB Mirror.

I'm pretty certain that this fish is swimming at least 2000 miles from OR.. which might be just as well for all concerned..
