Thanks for all the responses, Scott I'll be sure to let my grandpa know you said hello. I used to be around the scene for several years back when the group was still forming. I'm getting back into it pretty heavy and dont see stopping anytime soon.

Well i started going fishing for trount and bass at the begining of the year and i started talking about all the carping i used to do and Lake Oneill here on Camp Pendleton has a little record board with our beloved carp so i decided to get some of my guys into it. we go everyday after work and during our chow break and one of us always lands one. Here is a pic of one just a couple days ago. Just a little lunch time carp action, they are averaging 8lbs. the current record is 14 but i know this lake holds a mid 20 to 30.

The lake is right next to the Naval Hospital, just off Vandergrift. It's about 5 minutes from the Mainside PX area (13/14 area) no body every really fishes down there for carp except for a couple guys that have been watching us and finally tried it out yesterday. We had been gone trout fishing all day at Lake Dixon then came back to base to catch some carp and there were two fellows in our favorite swim. It's just an easy, unfished water and the guys i take down have a blast everytime we go. We manage to get 2-3 fish per person, per trip.
Here's a link that's tracking our fishing adventures. It's updated almost everyday.
