  1. Like you said not all down at the same time so you can still catch. Try to find a break to deeper water not to far outside where they're spawning and you could catch the pre/post spawn fish. They have a prestage area normally in relation to deeper water.

    The makes follow the female and use their bodies and environment to smash into her to get the eggs released. Can get pretty violent sometimes.

    It'll be a tough bite but you can still catch, coming from experience.

  2. I would stick around for an hour or two. The thing with colder water is the fish don't want to move as much. Catching carp in cold water is all about location. If you could find a area where the water is just a couple degrees warmer (some kind of inlet or warmer discharge) I would start there.   3. Panko is a type of Japanese breadcrumb that when mixed with cream corn creates a packbait that you mold around your lead or hook. Its great for cold water and very simple to make if you can find a cheap source. World classic baits sells flavored versions which led to me catching 13 carp in under 4 hours yesterday with one rod.
