Should be a good year. My wife is going to be my partner (she doesn't really fish...maybe twice a year) but it will be fun! Can't wait to get together with all you crazies again.

I have a buddy that fishes Lou yager, mostly carp around 10lbs. Decent channel cats also

lou yager, glen shoals, coffeen should all be within an hour.

Pro tip: bring something for shade!

Not your normal carp event but definitely one of the more fun ones... Unless you drink a bottle of moonshine and have to wake up and steward the next day!
It's a great opportunity to get normal fishing folks to see safe catch and release methods and good fish care. Plus helping the kids is always fun, especially when the girls category is won using a gummy bear. Hate that I have to miss it this year but count me in for next years!

Guess we know who the real invasive species is. Congrats to all the winners.

I love my kayak! Only been fishing in the ocean so far but when I get back to Illinois I'll definitely be using it to find me carp spots.

Good luck to all you guys tomorrow!

Welcome to the club! As for gear recommendations I would learn the basics of rigs and locating carp and then upgrade your gear. The diawa mad dragon rods are about $60 and decent rods for the money. Okuma makes some entry level bait runner reels that will work for you to. A couple bank sticks will work until you get a pod. Remember that the fish don't care what rod and reel you have, only your bait

You flying me out?

I'm definitely going to say a big YES and it will continue to do so for many years to come! From being around since the beginning and see where it has gone I have to say that CAG started it all, contrary to what some will say.

Might try to add a length of rig tubing above lead. That has helped me before.

My first fish on a zig was a catfish lol
I haven't had any problems with other species like panfish or bass. Seems to be either a carp or nothing.
