Damn, I thought we had until the end of the day to register too. Guess I'm missing out as well.

The 3rd fish was the biggest at 39lbs 13oz. 4 others were 30s and a hanful of 28-30lb fish. I use Arrowhead Mills puffs, if you can’t find them order them from Amazon.

You guys better watch out, I got a mirror over 30 today. 31 ounces to be exact.

Nice fish Jerome! You'll need to do better than 120 though
-
Thanks! PM sent

I won a free entry to this tournament in last year's Big 4. How do I register without paying the $10?

One of the great things about pack bait is you can eat it if you get hungry. Better than chewing on some mussel boilies.Ketchup works great on french fries

You da man matt!
Great fish
the two flavors must of been mr big flavoring and ketchup
Thanks! No ketchup in this bait but I'll be trying some ketchup bait soon.
-
Mind sharing the flavors? Congrats on the catch on the puff.
Don't want to give away any of Tom's secrets. One of the nice things about not being "sponsored" or a field tester for a bait company is I don't have to tell anyone what I'm catching on and I don't have to post all the fish I catch!

I caught this nice 37.8 the other day ON THE PUFF! Last summer I was ordering some flavors and asked Tom Brooks what I should try. He told me about a mix of 2 flavors that he's done well with in warm water...he was right. Thanks for the advice Tom!

Congrats Matt. That is the biggest mirror I ever heard come out of the river.
Thanks Donald! Before this one the biggest I've heard of was my old PB that I caught 3 times between 19-22, and the FSM i caught at 18.5 and Chris and Pawel caught at high teens, low 20s. We've only caught around half a dozen mirrors out of here so this was a surprise!

Thanks guys! Here are some better quality pics of both sides of the mirror. I was using a bad camera timer app that takes 5 low quality pics, 1 every 3 seconds so I didn't get a good quality pic of me holding it.

I didn't get to fish as much this May as I have in the past few years but I still managed to spend a good amount of time chasing carp. No 50 pounders for me this spring but I did catch some nice ones and had a blast hitting the bank with my buddies.
Normally the first week in May is one of the best weeks of the year for carp fishing at my local river. This year we had a massive rain storm come through the last day in April and the river went up 15' in one day. The river was unfishable for a few days because of the current and debris and it took about a week for everything to settle down. About a week into May they started biting and on Mother's Day I landed a new PB mirror. The biggest mirror I've had was during the 2012 Baldwinsville tournament and it was 24.12, as soon I saw this fish I knew it was well over 30. It ended up weighing in at 37.12, caught on an oat ball with oat pack. Right after I let her go I landed a 28 pound common, nice back to back combo.
Unfortunately after 3 weeks of baiting I had to leave them biting and go up to Connecticut for 6 days for a gig. While I was up there I spent half a day with some of my CT buddies. I had a lot of fun hanging out with the guys, managed a few small ones but Ethan and I spent most of our time watching Mike and Justin catch fish. I wish I could have fished longer while I was up but I didn't have much time between the rehearsals and performances.
When I got back to NJ the fish were getting ready to spawn. I had a few days in a row where all I caught were male carp under 20 pounds and after that some post spawn females started to show up, but the bite wasn't that great. The late May highlight was definitely watching Chris help his son Ian catch his first carp, which was a chunky low 20. It was awesome watching him catch his first carp, and it was a nice one! Chris landed a beautiful 27+ right after. We ended up getting 4 or 5 20s in a row and they stopped biting. All in all it was a fun month of fishing. I had some great times on the bank with some friends and saw some nice fish. Can't wait for the Spring bit next year!

Awesome catch! Good to see she's put on a couple pounds since last year

Way off

That poor mirror must of been starving if he fell to a puff
Ha, she definitely wasn't starving, she just couldn't resist the puff
-
I know you can do it Matt! Looking forward to the pics. Thanks again.
It's going to be tough, you set the bar high. I do have a PB mirror in the bag though
-
You the man Brian! I'm going to need to start catching some 40s and 50s soon if I want to catch up!
-
Those are some beauties, that's one hell of a session. Congrats on the PB!

Cool. I'll definitely print out copies when I get a chance but I'm not working until Monday. Maybe I can find a computer and printer at my gig this weekend. I'd probably be the first to print out the Big 4 logo while wearing a tux.
-
Can we pull up the tournament card on a smart phone and display that or does it need to be printed out? I don't have a printer and it wasn't posted in time for me to print it at work.

Looks like I'll be flooded out the first few day. Stupid rain!

I was out ice fishing all weekend and didn’t have service, I thought you had until the then end of the 14th to register and got home at 8:00. I guess it closed by then. Here are my “spring” pics I guess. I’ll post some carp pics in the fall.
