As a new group member I am thoroughly enjoying the stories and pictures in this section of the forum. Maybe one day soon I will be able to have a "PayDay" as well!
Keep 'em coming!

We have boated and released 280 or so since March but all are small compared to your standards. Our biggest was 7 lbs, 10 ounces. My PB is a mere 5 lbs, 11 ozs

Congratulations on the Buffalo! I had the privilege of catching my first and only one while fishing with a friend in Manhattan, Kansas this summer.
By the way, is a Buffalo and a freshwater Drum the same thing?

Forgive my ignorance but are they harvesting the Carp for food? The folks around hear would sneer at that thought!

One of my joys is writing Fish tales. Some of our stories can be seen on our website. I am posting an edited version of one of my favorites from October, 2002. I hope you enjoy this as well as some of our other Dog River Tales:
Attention Everyone!!!!!
Many of you have heard about the West Nile Virus. You may not believe this(and surely you won't), but the CDC in Atlanta just this morning has identified an outbreak of a new strain of virus on Dog River! The disease is commonly known as CARP-PULL-TUNNEL SYNDROME!
It is highly contagious and could be habit forming after only one exposure!! One of our very own (Charles Turner) has been identified and seems to really have a serious case. Some of the symptoms include increase in heart rate, stiffening of the back muscles as well as increased pressure in the wrists and fingers. The patients often let out loud shrieks and act in an almost uncontrollable manner. Wide grins are not uncommon.
Poor Charles came in contact with 11 different carriers of the disease just today. Please be careful when you see him .This Carp thang is Contagious!!!
Until next time, Keep the lines tight, and the drag set just right!!
