    Those two fish are not the same species of carp. There is hope for you. The first one is the same as Widd9's fish. There is a chance (I don't actually know which species it is you are catching) it is one that could get really big. The small head in relation to the body is indicative of many carp that are slow growing and get to be really B I G carp.

    The small head to body shape carp are not "common" in the United States or even in Canada or Mexico that I know of. TN is the only stocking to my knowledge. They are not from the original carp importations of the 1800's.

    My friends landed a bunch of tips and a nice lemon. I had some sexy big baits (not ray) out on my rigs but never turned a click. Did land a nice tip on the Avet LX and 12ft OM...that was fun.
