I have on good suspicion that large smallmouth buffs here in NC actively feed on baitfish such as shad. I wouldn't doubt fry-feeding behavior from carp for a minute!

So Ali and I found a new pond with some grassers that look to be pushing 40. Unfortunately, the fish in there are extremely wary and spooky, but finally hooked into one of the "average size" looking fish, and it weighed in at 27.10 lbs, a new PB. Hopefully will be able to hook into the big boy...he looks like a damn submarine in the water
