I am very pleased to announce that we will have three of the incredible new Gilbert Huxley Signature rods on the prize table. Rumor has it, the look and performance of these rods will match any $400 rod from overseas. It would be worth a trip to Chicago just to see these rods.

Marukyu, the renowned Japanese bait company, has generously offered to sponsor a trophy and load of goodies to the top junior angler (18 or younger) in the CCC.

I intend to be there on Sunday to help out. Have to mind the store on Saturday.

We have done this before and it has been popular. Dan, do you think there would be room in the chrch basement to devote a few tables to this before the food is served?

Stop in to Wacker Bait & Tackle to say hello and get an introduction to Illinois/Wisconsin carp fishing.

I think it is a great idea. Some of the virtues are that you do not need to get 64 anglers coordinated. Only need to coordinate two at a time. Personalities could make it extra interesting - not difficult. Two people who hate each other fishing side-by-side could be amusing as long as no blows are exchanged. And the playing field is as level as possible since you are only fishing against the guy right next to you.
Another plus is that cheating would be difficult if not impossible.

I am pretty sure I saw Ed's 18-9 on ice at Isaacson and Stein Fish Company.

Nice fish Paul, was it tough to do that tagging one-handed too ? Ed
Tagging and popping open the 24s, both were tough.

I still have very limited use of my right arm, so I fished a spot that did not require casting and that had smaller carp. The 7-6 in the photo was my first of the day, month and year. Not a monster but it does give me 144 consecutive months of catching Chicago-area carp. Did get one more fish of about 10lbs but no photo and no weight.
I imagine my physical therapist will give me a stern lecture tomorrow.

Jim beat me to the punch but let me thank West Side Bait & Tackle for once again jumping on board with the shirts, First Fish Award and other great prizes.
