all is well here and good! when we had that die off on my home waters it took the wind out of my sails! i was really depressed! its been a strange year for me! but im fighting my way back!and hope to reclam my carp crown this year!

froggy yes i remmber that pvc thing!and as i recall it worked pretty good too!
danele how big was your new pb? 26.4? congrats buddy! we did ok it was not on fire by no means but we got fish! the biggest one was 18lbs but it was fun fishing the old swim again with our old school gear! will i too learned on a cane pole but never used one for carp though!

well first off the fact that we didnt do well has nothing to do with the fact that we want to go old school.we know that in fishing some days you dont catch fish!be it the weather,not the right bait ,or chum,or a million other facters!some days the fish wont bite!
secondly we both learnned how to fish for carp at the same time,from the same mentor,at the same lake.and we thought it would be fun to get back to our roots so to speak! and if you think that you have to have all the new high tech gear to catch fish you need to go back and learn it again!all the new gear in the world wont make you a beter fisherman! they are only tools that help you and make it more fun! also we are going to the very lake that we learned on!

well after fishing lake milford yesterday with very few fish caught me and andy made up our minds to fish kent lake today and go old school!(by old school i mean)your very first carp rods and gear!no high tech gear! no beepers,no pods,ect..! i will be useing my 9ft. stealhead rods with the old school mitchel reels. my homemade cages. we be getting back to the basics! if any one wants to come out and join us your more than welcome!

i had a blast! this michigan group rocks!i got to meet and fish with a new friend!daniel(biancer)you are a top notch carpfisher! and a fantastic netter!you can share bank space with me anytime!andy little buddy!it was a trip fishing with you again! i may have got the wood going but you got a good base of coals started! we dont get to fish togeather to much but when we do its always fun no mater what!don again congrats on the pin! you worked hard for it! and congrats on the 31lbr you got too!rich thank you so much for all the food! it was good to have you on the banks with us! did the boys stay untill sunday? little andy(tree) and cody had to move their tent atleast twice and dry out all there gear! they did not get to fish much during the turny due to flooding but when they could fish they were huling!mark and son good to see you again and that was a very cool mirror!

i had a great time! i would like to thank everyone who came out to fish,and who helpped make this happen! and i would like to thank don for all the hard work! also for being a good cook too!and i got to meet another fine carper (blancior)he was tirless! always right there to help out! and andy what can i say its always fun fishing with andy! and watching him change up his baits and trying new things out!and alway cracking the one liners! and the food! and rich the mcds man thank you so much for getting us food! it really was nice to eat and not have to cook it!

hay dan ive been thinking that too! its still a long way off yet as it gets closer to it ill have to see if i can!
