  1. Organizer burnout was a big factor in it leaving Chicago. Back then, there was very little help available. Now, Chicago is loaded with competent and experienced tournament organizers; Larry ., Tracy J., Ernest K., Sam S, me...

I suspect we could get together and put on a first class event but I do not think 2011 is the year to do it. Because Dave scheduled his tournament the weekend of the CCC, the chances of a good turnout are greatly reduced. At least a few of the potential organizers are planning to fish Dave's event and, I imagine, a few CAG directors will as well. Even if the CCC were moved a week or two one way or another, it would still be a huge conflict.

2012 might be a possibility for Chicago.

2012 CCC back home sounds good to me. Hard to believe you let it go when you did Paul. I was against it moving as the CCC is one of the big reasons Im here. I had so much fun there before during and after the event. Learned so much about carp fishing and met some of the finest guys in the game. Glad to see there is interest in it returning.

  2. I would like to be the first to thank Tom for stepping up and putting the work in for CAG to host the CCC. Always distractions along the way and seem to be a couple here today.

  3. When I looked at the last pic I just knew that those boys learned much about life in a day spent waiting for a pull down with you guys. Makes me think that some day they will have the chance to take a kid fishing and tell them the story about the time they spent with guys named "cool dad" and the "Ol captain" Oh wait and the "Ultimate Carp Hound"

    good work...

  4. Sad news for sure. I only met Bud once as well, my first CCC, he was eager to talk to me and you could quickly see that his passion for carping and the people he met along the way were high on his list.

I almost bought a couple of old baitcasters from him at the tackle trading area. I have regretted not buying them ever since.

    RIP

  5. Rick,

As usual you step up and do the job for CAG!! Prebaiting and setting up in the heat and making sure every person (young and old) that came by today had a chance to land a carp and learn about CAG.

    good work...
