  1. Sound like fun. They fight pretty aggressively? You must get some impressive Grass Carp out your way as well I bet. Definitely another top target species of mine.

Snakeheads are awesome on topwater because they smash lures as hard as any fish I have seen... that's convenient, because the only place I know to get them consistently is a weed choked mud hole and you HAVE to fish topwater weedless plastics. I was over it pretty quick to be honest. The hassle of the place was too much.

Grass carp are huge everywhere if you can find them. I only caught 4 in pa. 3 were from a small pond and all over 40 lbs. One came from the Schuylkill river, which was a real surprise... 22 lbs. I caught my biggest one ever in Austin last year but didn't weigh it.

  2. I had read about the flathead invasion in Pennsylvania, I just wasn't sure there was enough in good numbers and size to target them and make it a worthwhile trip. That is definitely something to consider about doing in the somewhat near future. Thanks for the info on the flatheads and on the Taiman Salmon. Is the summer months the best time to target the flatheads?

Yeah, flathead fishing is pretty good in the city here. My buddies that target them a lot land plenty of 20+ fish and several 30's each year for 3 years in a row now. I don't think they have ever beat 40, but they have been really close. You just need a ton on sunnies and suckers for bait...

  3. Hi all, I noticed several of our members started threads about the highlights of their year and thought it would be a great idea to archive these stories and photos in one place like other big photo threads.

So, please add your biggest highlights of the year photos with or without a story and please keep the attaboys to a minimum so it's mostly eye candy

I'll let somebody else go first :yourock:
