  1. i am in no hurry buddy. i know what managing a web site is all about. they can become just what you wanted, fast. be careful what you wish for... that sort of thing... that is what i meant by your own personal hell. (im just a whiner, i love my website, and i love yours) i appreciate you taking the time at all. i was just agreeing with you on minimizing the "bow talk."

  2. I will agree that the hooks acs is getting seem superb....

i only have one example, but here it is.

you may remember philly guys went to town lake a month ago. well zach gave me a rig he tied on a long shank pop up hook i believe he got from acs. maybe it was the hook and his was his craftsmanship, maybe it was luck, but i finally retired this rig, YESTERDAY. i must have landed 50 fish on that one hook- including a 29 and a 32.5 and others at town. as well as a 20 and plenty of 15s here in philly. i have re sharpened the hook a few times, and the only reason i stopped using the rig is because the power pro is starting to fray at the knot. i'll tie it up onto a new hair and i will go back to using my lucky hook. the funniest thing is, i have lost plenty of other rigs lately to rocks and othe snags.... i just get lucky every time with this one. fish have been getting spawny again lately here judging by how excited they get when i have them on the mat.... anyway, they have been so fiesty that matt and i both have bent many many hooks. not that one...

who would've thought.... a lucky hook. maybe i can get it plated.

so anyway... zach- what brand of hook was that?

  3. here is my favorite super easy boilie recipe:

take 1 egg. add 1 tsp salt, 1 tsp sugar, 1 tsp oil of choice. beat. add nonfat powdered milk until doughie enough to roll into balls 10-20 mm (some milk powder on hands helps since they will be a little sticky). boil for a few min... i always boil in juice. liquid from canned corn, cran grape, etc... good luck.

  4. i just caught 2 this evening in just a few hour session- 1 on corn micros and one on hempseed. again- both flavors are super.

i am wondering keith... i read a post in the past that you were testing corn flavored boilies not out yet... a larger size.... will it ever be possible to see the particle flavors in a full sized model?

  5. this is an interesting development. i guess when you deal with people, you are always going to be dealing with their personalities. i only have dealt with royals baits. i havent had any contact with the individuals spoke of, but i have tried several of the baits. as zach mentioned, we in philly have done well with corn micros; absolutely as well as other baits. i fish at least 4 or more days per week, but i also work 6-7. so my sessions are shorter than i wished. i guess i havent pulled any 30 lbers out on royal baits, but also because i am strapped for time i havent exactly dedicated myself to trek to the venues where they will be very often. i did catch one 25 in austin with corn micros but i only used them for a moment... here in philly, i have definately caught some of the biggest fish i have seen in selected venues using corn micros, and more recently i have been very satisfied with hempseed. if i was to give a true evaluation, my only criticism so far is the brittleness that can develop after soaking in certain flavors. i also think the pop up recipe needs some work.

whatever anyway. i just got a roll-a-ball today in the mail.

  6. Nice Fish!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  what were you using as you main bait?

throughout the trip, we used corn micro boilies from royal, mainline fruit bursts, pineapples, and pineapple pop-ups. i caught all my biggest fish at town lake with a combo of i think 15 mm mainline fruit against the hook with a 20 mm pineapple below. i didnt use any pop ups. i think matt usually popped u thoug and don cut boilies in 1/2 to make a single 20mmm pineapple/ fruit combo. i used micros at snake river and lake oahe since the fish were so little.

  7. Awesome story guys and it was great getting to meet yall at Town Lake.  I love the homeless Joe pose.  I think he lives down at the big rock to the far right of the chicken swim where I was fishing when yall arrived at TL.  He was there sleeping on the rock when we first arrived at that swim the day before.

Btw....how did the video turn out?

i agree paul, good to put a voice to your posts, the video looks good, needs some editing which will take some time.. im sure i'll get posty whe i have something worth watching...

  8. Great pictures, Louis. But something I'm not sure to understand? Why didn't you take a bit more time? You seemed to have rushed through a LOT of states at the light of speed?  :D

well jerome, a moth would be nice, 2 even better. but 2 weeks is a more resonable ammount of time to take from work. i work for temple university, and don works at childrens hospial, so that was the best we could do without quitting. there was also this whole challenge angle to it which we found exciting... coast to coast to coast in 16 days? everyone i consulted advised aganst it. hen we got home eary it was even better....

  9. later that evening, don and i both admitted to eachother that we were by this time exhausted from driving so much etc.. so we agreed to skip chicago (sorry paul p) and drive an all nighter straight home 2 days early.

we arrived in philly a few hours earlier then exactly two weeks from the minute we left.

8200 miles and change... not bad.

  10. lake oahe is a reservoir created by a dam in the missouri river. it is freaking huge. it has one of the best walley fisheries in the world. but don and i got carpy. we caught only small fish, but sooo many in only a few hours. fish responded to our groundbait chum in only about 1/2 hour and were slapping all over the place. a really fun place if you want to catch a million fish and camp right on the water....

  11. the next day we had planned to stay at snake river. but the fishing wasn't as good as we had hoped, and the place stunk like the sewage treatment place down the road, so we drove right through montana to yellowstone. we caught some trout behind a rest stop in montana... it was awsome.
