So I skipped this years prom to fish. My parents are telling me that im missing very memorable times from carp fishing, but i cant get it through my head!! So on to the report.
Well everyone, only one fish this weekend, just like last week. I put in 26 hours of fishing this weekend. The only thing different this weekend is the fish was much bigger. A 13.2lb common. She bit at around 11:30pm on friday night. That was it all weekend. I had two runs on friday, only connecting on one. But as always, i learned sum new stuff: used shrink tube, found out frozen corn is cheaper, 50/50 mix of corn and peas looks like a real good combo, and found out headlamps are wonderfull.
Also, this week i am finally getting a new usb cord for my camera so look for LOTS of pictures. The ones you have been seeing are from my cell phone. Thanks for looking!

After fishing both saturday and sunday from 9am to 9pm, without any bites, i just could NOT give up. I baited up about 5lbs of peas and corn over the course of those two days, and added more cherry flavored corn and peas plus sum nuts today. As i watched the beautifull sunset, i realized how much i love carp fishing. Just as i said that in my head, as if on que, i got a nice run and connected. A short fight later, i had a 5.5lb common on the mat. Boy was i excited! So was the crowd of about ten people that came to see me pull the fish out and take a picture. You can think what you want, but this fish i felt was good enought to be on the internet!
he bit on this

Hey Everyone,
This week was my spring break. I’ve been waiting a long few weeks for not only a break from school, but the arrival of warm weather, warmer scenery, and HOT fishing. The fishing was definitely hot the first half of the week, but a trip to Wallace Dam yesterday told me that the carp are starting their spawning behavior. They were definitely there in good numbers, but my odds of getting one to bite were low. Let’s not talk about the bad time, but the good trips I had. I am fortunate enough to have a pond that holds a few common carp within a mile of my house. I showed up one day to see if the carp were present, and I saw a carp at the surface. Turns out that a guy had caught a carp out of there the day before, brought it home to eat and did not eat it, so he brought it back. It was dead of course, but to worsen the pain, I had caught that fish last year; it was my PB at 23lbs. I fished with a broken heart that day, but I guess the carp felt my pain and gave me a fight to keep my hopes up. I caught two that day. It was a good day and a buddy from school who lives close by showed up. After that, I went to Wallace dam the following day, and caught 3. One fat common that wrapped me around 2 rocks, but I was fortunate to wiggle him loose and get him to the mat. I managed one more the day after that at the pond close to home, my biggest of the break at 15lbs. I have one more trip planned, a discovery trip at a local river about a half an hour away. I hope to fish there all day tomorrow. Thanks for reading!
