PS. is this Kody's first 40? (I mean, not counting his 52lb legendary catch)
Ya! We were talking about that after he caught it. His Pb was 34lbs for years then last year he caught a 38 then skipped the 40’s. You had an incredible session!

What’s the big deal about where the scale is or on a tripod? A tripod is the proper way to weigh a fish. No tripod the weight shouldn’t count period. Really the whole weighing process should be on video!

If there are catfish you’ll need to pile it in, they eat a lot of bait.

OMG!!! Just when I thought there was simply no way to up my tally i DOUBLED on two monsters!- this 23-3 and this 35" 22-3lbr!!!!, the latter of which wrapped around three moorings and an outboard motor, shredding the mono but it held (12lb test) til I could land it , while holding the 23lbr in my sling in the water......What an incredible, incredible ending to CAG!!!!!........So....my totals are 24-0, 23-3, 22-3 and 22-2- all from the same spot at the lake with no chumming. Tonights fish were just before a Northwest storm moved in, with wind and lightening- SO EXCITING!!!!!!!!, and my two buddies, a great blue heron and a toad (toady) present!!!!..................oh, and landed an 11 lbr earlier- a real screamer!..................................YEEEEEEEE HAWWWWWWW YALL!!!!!!!!!
Nice fish! Love your enthusiasm!

I have seen the light and see the benefit of having a bite alarm. I have been looking around on the 'net for bite alarms and there is a huge variety out there. I was hoping I could get some feedback from those that have used the good the bad and the ugly.
I have 2 ideas for getting a bite alarm.
1) get a rod mounted alarm (no need for a rod pod). Are there good units out there? Do any have good battery life?
2) non rod mounted bite alarm wish list
-LED for night fishing
-long battery life
-remote so that I can walk to my car and get a signal letting me know to run back to my rod!
Any feedback would be appreciated.
Can’t go wrong with delkims, mind are 10yrs old and never missed a beat. Just don’t cheap out, it’s not worth it.

I live in a state (North Dakota) where it is against fishing regulations to return a carp to the water.
Just curious if there are other states with a rule like this.
Jay
Absurd as it is they’re others.

I’m not saying there is anything wrong with what is going on here. However I now understand why no one fishes the big 4.. good luck to all ethical sportsman. It has always been a blast putting this much time and effort into monster carp. Carp on my friends.
Do you care to elaborate?

I’m speechless right now! Kody has come a long way over the last couple years! He can put in couple day sessions no problem, no sleep and keep digging whether the fish are biting or not! He’s become quite the angler and was rewarded with a fish of a life time! Here it is 51lbs 14oz. What a beast and he earned it!

Kody and I wanted to thank Iain, Willem and CAG for putting this contest together. Also want to thank all the sponsors. Congrats to all the anglers! Entering the fall 4 made us work harder and go fishing in conditions we’d probably otherwise stay home.

Thank you! I was amazed at some of the sessions we had, cold, rain all night fishing. Usually wouldn’t of went under some of the conditions but the fall 4 kept us interested! Can’t wait till spring!!

No Big 4 result I guess?
They had a problem with the leader board. I think they have to check everything manually.

Went out for a short, 3 hour session on the Delaware river at high tide and WOW, it did not disappoint! Non-stop action, 5 fish with 3 over 20 pounds. It was a blast!
Note: I completely blanked at this swim in the spring big four! Interesting...15 Pounds...
19 Pounds, 2 Ounces...
21 Pounds...
24 Pounds, 4 Ounces
And finally, 28 Pounds, 8 Ounces! Also my first ever high-twenty fish...
Wtg! Nice fish!

Thanks for the help guys!! I went to the river forest park and got eaten alive by Mosquitos. They where sucking blood out of my eye lids cause it was the only place that wasn't drenched with spray. Never seen anything like it. The fish moved in right away but never caught one over 10 lbs
