carp of the month right there maybe???

Nice lump.

some great entries but the near forty was always gonna be a tough fish to beat
-
thanks, i have been a very fortunate angler

RIP. I have never seen a carp held and a bottle of beer balanced on the knee at the same time, a great image of a man i never met but who it seems will be dearly missed, and a beautiful video that reminds us its not always about the fish, but the memories.
video posted on big carp news fb page out of respect!

Here it is, our new BIG CARP NEWS theme. Carp memories part one with myself Craig Parkes. Got a bit choked up making this video, made me realise how good carp angling has been to me. Enjoy.

mike hudak, thats as common black as ya hat
amazing fish, and in the snow too

get on the lake first light and last light , not even to fish but to see where the fish are
pre spawn if the water is deep in the middle id say try to find the shallow, weedy bays and flats as this is where they will come into spawn.
other than that try to find the fish and bait an accessible area there or close by
sounds exciting, keep us posted on the results

some awesome fish guys, great months competition, i even managed two babies myself, spring it seems is upon us

I liked the first video until you took a cheap shot at pack and corn. Perhaps more folks catching carp on pack and corn would make videos if they were sponsored by Green Giant and Quaker!
lol, i prefer my nash cap to that quaker armish hat lol
you will love my new article coming soon, i wont name the title but pack is the devil lol

Part one of two, first ever carp session in Pennsylvania, few hrs after work on a local creek catching some stunning wildies via stalking methods. Enjoy.

i would definately look at how you lift the net too. either use a sling to lift the fish or grab the net at the bottom just above wheher the fish is, otherwise all that weight is going on the arms and spreader and the same will keep happening
-
i have had a nightmare with nets over the past year, primarily spreader blocks. i had a greys stainless one open up so the arms were falling out, they replaced free of charge with a complete free new net (excellent customer service), this one had a plastic spreader that broke before i even used it once (snapped screwing it it). So i bought a gardener one from carp kit. Best spreader i have used but even that broke eventually. the best one i have seen recently is the nash dwarf, its like a rubberised plastic with a strengthening bar to support the spreader. i have not used one but thought the design was good as i am fed up of expensive nets and spreaders breaking. i had one break when i had a 30 at my feet and another with a 40 at my feet (luckily i still landed them both) but thats not good enough.
here is a pic of the nash dwarf spreade, also the handle is telescopic so is small to transport. i will hopefully be getting one of these soon as im at a loose end with spreader blocks. i know daves placing a nash order this week so i can find out if hes gettin any and the costs but id expect the dwarfs to be under or close to 100 bucks.

I'm afraid I have to drop out. It conflicts with a big soccer camp I work on each year that week. Good luck all.
