Fished the river here yesterday.
Carp were surfacing all over the river. I thought the action would be good but my rods lay idle 'till 10 AM. I got a good run then & banked a 16.5.
I didn't get another run after that 'till 4 PM & landed a 22 pounder.
Nothing after that. I stayed on the bank 'till 7 PM.
The scenery & wild life helped to move the day along. A doe with two fawns came out along the shore & the two fawns started nursing on her.
Two mature eagles and a juvenile were around all day.
With not much going on I took a short video of the doe & fawns.
With all going on during the day, the day went fast for me.

I resisted getting the cam for a lot of years but finally pulled the trigger on one & am glad I did.
You can find out just what is lurking about when you're not looking.

Great looking venue & some VERY NICE fish. I believe Max has you licked in the licking department! Your tongue is supposed to make contact with the fish!

Cool video of Cool Dad! Looks to me like he may be enjoying himself!

Fished a local river spot here on Monday. Got set up at 5.45 AM.
Had the first fish on camera at 6.09.
Didn't get another run until 11 AM. The pic came out blurry for some reason.
The first fish was 25 lbs & 4 ozs & the second one was 21 lbs even.
I found a dime, a nickel & two pennies on the ground by my set up so that explains the two twenties & 17 cents!
There were three eagles along the other shore line that were there most of the day. Two were mature birds & one a juvenile.
One of the birds was feeding on a catfish so I got a video. At one time a Blue heron tried to horn in on the eagle but the eagle wasn't having it. Later the other mature bird came to join in the feed.

Thanks, Skammer! The wife says thanks too, after she saw the decrease in the checking account........ I don't think she was really serious about finding out where you and Jigerjim live, do you? Oh well, she'll never find out from me. lol

Good looking fish Bob!
I have only done a few overnighters & did pretty good on them.
Gotta love the baitcasters! A lot less problems than spinning gear & they seem to last forever.

I decided to head up north yesterday to fish with JiggerJim & Semper-FI also joined us. I had both rods in at 6 AM.
I got my first run 4 minutes later! There was a half-moon for most of the morning hours.
Shortly after I got another run an as I was fighting that fish the other rod got hit! There was a guy fishing near me & when he came over the see what I was catching, I told him to grab my other rod. He did & got a big smile on his face when he felt the weight of the fish. I landed my fish & then netted his. He was all excited & said it was the biggest fish he ever caught. He thanked me many times for letting him catch the fish.
Another carper on the horizon?
Jigger Jim & Semper-FI showed up a little later & Semper had never caught a carp so I hooked him up with two hair rigs & rigged his lines with a proper rig. He landed his first carp shortly after that.
Looks like the camera lens had a little splash on it from the carp. Another carper on the horizon?
JiggerJim got a fish later so nobody got skunked.
Even I managed to catch a few! Heaviest fish was 27 lbs 2 ozs.

Gotta agree with the BUCKEYE! Since I joined CAG all other forums I belong to have become less interesting!

Another great session. You guys always do well!

Good video! I like the action of the rod tips when using the pay lake rod holders.

Good times for sure! I like all the pics of the area & interesting things you see. To me, that is a big part of enjoying a fishing trip.

Great looking fishes! NICE! I think I know that place! LOL
Nice having the PVA bags made up ahead of time. I like your assortment.

Just saw the post. The old saying goes " Awesome As A Possum!"

Good job on getting the runs on video. I think the most exciting part of carpin is when the alarm starts screaming because you don't know if the fish is going to be 5 lb or 50 lbs!

Gotta love that hook-nose carp!
Carp Island surely lived up to it's name!

I certainly enjoyed your adventure & am always amazed how Max is completely comfortable & calm in the yaks & Carp Shark.
Hope your SS checks come soon & is a big help in funding your adventures.
With 16 EE's you shouldn't have any trouble paddling to shore if you fall out of the yak! Almost the size of swim fins!
