I heard some whistling outside this Am & when I looked up in a dead white pine by my garage I saw a male woody sitting on a limb. He then flew back in some oak trees about 75 yds behind my garage & then I saw a female woody there but could not get a pic of her because she was moving around too much. They are starting to get horny!

Pat......I have the Nash Apache 3 Rod holder for about 3 yrs now. It gets a lot of use & is holding up well. You can fit 3 rigged rods in it & 3 more unrigged. The padding & zippers are excellent & you don't have to worry about rod damage. The pouches on the outside hold my bank sticks, my shade umbrella & my spare net & there is a lot more room for other items. Quality product.
I have the Nash Daddy Long Legs chair & am comfortable during my long sessions.
I use the Chub Rig pouch for my hair rigs. Holds a lot & in the back section there are plastic pouches for hooks, pop up corn, split shots, baiting needles etc.
For my pod I have a Matrix Patriot.
I use Delkim alarms with Delkim hangers.
Hope ya got some cash to spend LOL. Carpin can get expensive!

Nice start! I use the same sinker set up & the stopper prevents the sinker sliding up the line on the cast. If the fish gets hung up on anything & the line breaks, the sinker is able to come off the line & allowing the fish to be free from it.
-
Never used it.

Great fish-in with some fantastic catches. Looks like a nice place to do some carpin. Looks like you had the hot hand that day. Very nice job on the video too!

I bring my field corn to a rolling boil & then simmer it for three hrs then drain it & let it cool before putting it in gallon plastic begs & then into the freezer. The corn gets falling apart soft & starchy & I believe that it is the best chum possible. I take what I am going to use out of the freezer the night before, being care full not to confuse it with the chicken gravy like Cannonball did, LOL, because I too do not want boiled field corn for supper!
The corn will last indefinitely in the freezer & be there when you need it. I even believe freezing it enhances it further.
Also unused corn from your session can be re frozen with no ill affects.

Sweet corn should be fine. I personally think the key to winter carping is to find the carp. They will be in different areas of the water as temps change. Good luck.
-
Try using artificial corn pop-ups. That will solve a lot of your problems.

Nice going John! Getting our youth involved is a sure way to perpetuate our sport!

Fished a lake here yesterday with JiggerJim. A cold start with the temps in the lower 30's & the cold nights have affected the bite here. We only ended up banking 5 fish but the weather turned out great for a November day with temps in the afternoon around the 70 degree mark. We very much enjoyed the day & at least we didn't blank.

Incredible indeed! You are very lucky to have access to such awesome fish! Thanks for posting the pics.

Talking yesterdays....yesterday was one of my best days of the fall with 20 fish landed in a three hour period. And, I had a bunch of decent ones like the mirror below. Rain and stormy weather was moving in and it had the carp charged up in the spot I was fishing.
Twenty fish landed with an awesome mirror, that's a super day! You do get some awesome mirrors!

Wow only 8 lol sounds like a good day to me I average 3 or so a outing with my most being 8 so I'd day if 8 is a slow day your In the right spot
That lake has tons of carp in it & the potential is good substantial catches.

I didn't get to go due to rain; supposed to rain through tomorrow.
Looking at the radar for your area, it looks like you are clearing out some. We have it here now & might last into tomorrow.

I fished Yesterday again with JiggerJim. Cold start. Temps were in the high 20's & I believe the dropping water temps made for a slow day. We again were fishing in about 10 ft of water & I got two fish around 9 AM & then all was quiet 'till around 3 PM. We ended up the day with only 8 fish on the bank but we were able to educate a few of the fishermen there about carp fishing & how much fun it can be.

Great pics from a great session! Good job getting that Northern Transplant on some carp! I have fished with him many times.
-
I'd say you had a very good birthday! Good story with the catch & congrats on the PB!
-
Great looking venue & it looks like the fish were really co-operating. Very nice pics also!

I went back to this years new discovery to fish the third spot that I had picked out to try. JiggerJim came down out of the hills to join me. I got set up about an hour before daylight but didn't get any hits 'till around 8 AM. The water towards the middle of the lake there is around 21 ft & nearer the shore it is around 10 ft. We fished to 10 ft area & had a decent day. We banked 18 fish & enjoyed not only the fishing but the fall colors on the hills there. Jim left around 4:30 but I stayed 'till 8 PM but did not get any action after dark.
Very nice sunset to close out the day.
