  1. Fished a local lake yesterday from 10 AM 'till 6 when some incomming thunder heads chased me out. Carp were active all over & some had their backs sticking out of the water very near the shore line. It only took about 20 minutes to get a run but after that the action was good. Don't know the total of the fish I banked but a lot of them were under 10 lbs. No real biggies but I had a lot of action & enjoyed the day. Some of the pics.

  2. Took the boat with me yesterday morning so I could access some of the shoreline that I can't get to walking in. Temp at the house was 33 degrees when I left. Got on the lake & set up at 7 AM. Nothing 'till noon when I had a good run but when I locked the gears I didn't even feel him. At 1.45 I had a good run & that one I got. Things got hot after that & I ended up with 12 on the bank until I quit at 8.

At 6, chinese fire drill! Both delks were screeming at once. I was fishing by myself & I hate when that happens! I grabbed the first pole & luckily that fish was only about 6 lbs & I was able to get him quickly While the other Delk kept screeming. When I got to the second one he was way out there & it took a while to get him into the net & was 14 lbs. I would have stayed after dark but I didn't have my running lights for the boat with me. Biggest fish was 18.5 & one of the fish had an indentation in his back right before the dorsal fin & that area was black. I think because of the cold nights the carp don't activily start feeding 'till the afternoon.

  3. Fished with JiggerJim yesterday. Very cloudy start but the lake was calm & the sky looked like it could rain any minute but it held off 'till around 1 PM. It started slow but gradually got harder until we quit at 3 PM. JiggerJim got one & I landed 5. The last one was right before 3 & the rain was comming down pretty good by then so no pic of that one. Don't like to expose the digital to moisture. Biggest fish was a little over 14 lbs & if the rain didn't chase us out I think we could have landed a lot more.

  4. Jim there was muddy clouds everywhere I put my lines and spombed, it was like a bad dream. I ran out of my pva bags. I'm tying up some rigs right now and the fedex guy should be here in 1-2hours with my pva mesh and other things.

Hang in there Adam. We learn a little bit every time we fish. If we caught a lot of fish on every trip we would get bored & go back to cat fishin. Carp fishing is like going back to school & I have had more fun trying to fool them than any other type of fishing I have done.

  5. Adam.....After the phone call about all the activity you were seeing I thought you were going to get plenty of hook-ups. Some days are like that I guess. Don't know if the sinkers are a problem but I don't think so. Were you stringing the PVA bags onto your hook links?

  6. Fished a local lake with Rebelcarp yesterday. No action 'till the afternoon hrs. We ended up with 5 fish & 14 lbs being the biggest. Very nice weather for a change & we had 3 Osprey overhead all day & even they didn't succeed to grab any fishes 'till the afternoon hrs. They were awesome to watch as they hovered above us against a pristene clear blue sky. Some pics.

  7. I hope so, most of the swims I've been working on are all covered in this weed, haven't been able to get around it so in stuck fishing in it with chod rigs, I saw the rain coming but cold temps si no hope of getting them more active. I hate the weed lol

Weather forecast this AM for our area has changed & now we are supposed to get a lot less rain. I guess that old snot weed is going to be around a lot longer. Oh well, at least the lakes don't have it.

  8. Skammer, you fish the Susquehanna right? I've noticed the same weed in many of my river spots where there normally isn't any. I think due to the lack or rain and flooding that the water has remained very clear allowing the weed to grow longer and thicker

I was hoping for a good day on the river & was really surprised at all the weed. Normally it doesn't form in the river here 'till near the fall of the year. This last summer & the warm winter has changed everything. We have a good dose of rain comming this weekend, maybe that will wash some of the weed away. I hope!
