    Wild Carp Fall Shootout.. New PB Mirror

    So here it came, it was friday early morning 3 am i got up and by 3:30am i was on the road... I met up with Josh (carpaholic125) at 6am and hit the road to baldwinsville.. We arived at the swim around 9 9:30 am.. It was raining and even snowing... Josh had a rip off 5 minutes after his cast, than it went down for a while... Later on it picked up and we had some good runs.. We left at around 11 pm decied we needed a good rest for saturday's shootout... The competition was between 17 anglers each paid 40 bucks and the hour pay for the big fish was $68.. my day started very slow i had landed only one fish around 12pm which was only 13lb 3 oz... i missed another run and that was it till later on.. It was a very slow day and people were winning money with 14 15lb fish, which 4 hours of the 10 hours no one got anything so that made the last hour $270... the biggest fish caught i think was 19lb that day.. So it was about 4:15pm and we had no time left when my left rod goes off... i was putting my stuff away... i picked up my rod and there was.. fish on.. it did not take very long till it came close to the shore... Josh got in the water to land the fish.. It was only 5 feet away when it came to the top and i SCREAMED out ITS A MIRROR lol.. i was so excited. The fish was 14lb 4oz... i was so happy it was a new pb for me. This hour went by and the last hour came.. I told my self now the big tournament starts and i was wondering who's goin to win the pod. there was no fish caught till 5:10 when my right rod goes off and i set the hook... well the fish gave me a fight. My heart was beating like never before. the fish was landed and weighted 18+ my winning fish.. So here are some pics...

    So i woke up this morning at 5 am and headed to the swim where i got my PB the other day, with the hope of catching a big one again... got there at 5:50 after setting up everything the rods were in the water by 6:15... i was using k1 14mm scopex on one of my rods and the other one had 18mm pop up JTF.. it started good first run in about 6:30... i had a tottal ot 6 landed fish between 13 to 17 18 pounds not sure did not have a scale just from guessing... 3 unhooked and 2 ripppp offs.... they preffered the scopex did not have any hits on the JTF pop up... so heres some picturess and enjoy...

    DGuy, if it's over 30 and is your PB you should of had a half dozen pictures taken at several different angles, not for anyone here but for you, if i ever get a 30 i won't want it to look like a 15 from bad pictures, i would be pissed at the pic taker in this case. Next time you beat your PB have a competent pic taker and take several photos at several angles, there is always a pic or 2 that comes out bad. My 2 cents.

    Thanks guys, glad you like them. They went through some serious testing that's for sure. Both of you had PB's in the last few weeks too which is great result, Congrats :)

    This is a real interesting time of year and I'm sure more records will be beat before the year end :D

    yea ur stuff is amezing lol tell ya the truth didnt have much succsses on the boilies but lately iv gotten some runs on them and they stop taking corn preffere more boilies.... but il deff need the hooks for next week im goin up to baldwinsville for the shootout at the dog park...

    Superb fish - if you use the hooks that JB sends you, I think you won't be disappointed. His EZ IN 4's have done me proud this season...

    i do use his hooks its just that i ran out and i went fishing yesterday realizing i have cpl old hooks... the hook i caught this pb was a ez in 1 hook.... bigger wider and more stronger.... i def love k1 baits

    :) Great catches!

    Many of us have been carp fishing for years and not hooked such a beast. Well done!

    ea hehe its a lifetime experience i have been carp fishing only for a year and a half so im still a rookie lol... but im happy that i landed such a good and healthy fish... lookin forward for the 40's now ahhaha before my 25lb was not enought now the 32 is not...
