  1. Hello guys... My name is Ivelin-Ivan... I live in Westchester NY... i began carping about 2 years ago with a 6 foot rod and canned corn lol :) after catching some small fish i began reading about UK and all the famous anglers and techniques... It was the winter of 2009 when I ordered some cheep gear and started fishing in spring.. I did not have much success at all, only one fish about 14 pounds in spring. After vacation I came back and seen a post at Carp Usa Forum from Jason Bernhardt and he invited me to Baldwinsville.. Ohh man I had so much fun with them I will never forget J I been there 5 times for the past couple of months and hopefully one more before December.. So I came across Rob "robm1093 " and he told me about the CAG forum so here I am :D

  2. So here how it all started. I woke up at 7am got a nice breakfast and headed to the swim…. I was there at 8, the tide was not coming till 10 but I wanted to get my spot since I have seen bunch of people fishing it lately that take the fish. It was sunny out but the windy, the wind must have been more than 30mph. I had more than 5 layers of cloths on my back but I was still cold lol… the wind was right in my face.. My rods were in the water by 8:15. The tide was coming in and the water was really high, I was hoping big today… I had one rod with pop up from k1 baits and the other rod with tiger nuts. Well here they came. 3 guys came and unloaded their car right next to me.. I told my self “well sorry guys but it ain’t your day today” they were using sweet corn straight from the can lol :) which works but from the strong waves there was i dout it would stay on the hook :D. it looked like It was not my day either lol. I was trying out different baits and different stuff, nothing was working. This really nice guy stopped and started a conversation with me about carp.. He told me about 20 years ago carp would swim in the bay and when tide would go out they get stuck in the little ponds and they would die, he said there was hundreds and hundreds of carp every day big ones, his words were “30-40 lbs“, people would just come with nets catch them and use them as fertilizer.. Well he mentioned about this “nice looking carp that had only 3 4 scales on it” hohoho I thought my self "hope I manage to catch the same ones he is talking about" hehehe, when my alarm went off.. I turned around picked up the rod bummm fish on… it was a heavy fish and it was taking drag. Well I thought to my self might be a new PB lol :P the fish came close and I had my net ready… the guys that were fishing next to me offered me help but I kind of told them to F-OFF… the belly was big and the fish was not small.. I landed it after 10 minutes of fight and it hit the scale on 29lb and 5oz.. It was not a mirror but it’s a trophy fish for me.. Well here are some pics. Enjoy and tight lines :) The fish was caught on jumbo maize soaked in my secret flavor that got me some nice fish this season ;)

  3. Not that I can see all of the pictures, I would say I agree that it is a black carp. The shape of the mouth looks more overbite than a white amur, and it definitely has a darker hue to it.

Whatever it is it is a huge fish! :)

    Thanks for the link Ivelin!

well yea idk it looks alot like a grassie but its way darker than a grassie i think...

  4. Very nice. Thanks for posting it up for us Ivelin. Do they say where in Bulgaria it was caught?

Mirror carp: 60lb 4oz ( 27,4 kilo )     there was a recent one caught i belive a little bigger than this one....

    Sturgeon: 43lb ( 19,5 kilo )

    Catfish: 57lb 12oz ( 26 kilo )

    Koi: 15lb ( 6,8 kilo )

    Grasscarp: 49lb ( 22,3 kilo )

  5. well i read a post in my country's forum about carp fishing in Bulgaria. two anglers went out on saturday and after a 40 min fight it appeared to be a 128 pound 58kgs black amur - grass carp... i was wondering is that a world record ? the guy said it broke the scale hook and ripped up the sling.... the fish was a monster... it was released after pictures were taken.... i will post some pics later on since im not home now.... or here is the link to the post sorry its on bulgarian you wont be able to read it...
