  1. Hmm. i dont even remember what we did last year... $10 for each, Big common, big buff, 1+1, and total common weights i think? Enter all or none or anything between.

  2. All anglers are required to have a VALID Texas fishing License ; you may purchase them by phone at (800)895-4248. Or online at:http://www.tpwd.state.tx.us/
Licenses are also sold at Wal-Mart, Academy, and other sporting goods stores.
If you wsould like to fish prior to the tournament we can recommend areas that will be permitted. Austin Lake has a campground (Emma Long) and it is a very similar type of venue (see rules). there are some growths of Hydrilla and Milfoil, so beware! Another Venue is Decker Lake, known for Large Buffs.

    Rules:
-No pre-fishing in Ladybird Lake (Town Lake)from Sunday through the start of the event. Anyone seen not complying with this will disqualify his or her team from the competition and the entry fee will not be refunded. All participants are allowed to plumb and research the lake; this includes the use of SMART CASTS.

-A representative of each team MUST be present at the peg draw, if one is not present that peg will be forfeited and the team will be issued whatever peg is left.

-The Peg Drawn is the Peg you Must fish!

-All of the city park rules must be observed.

-Only Cyprinus Carpio count for total weight and big fish (no buffalo, grass carp, Old tires, tennis shoes, dead anglers, lousy team members, etc.)

-ONCE AGAIN, a special award for the biggest Buffalo (any variety) will be presented.

-Each two-person team may fish anywhere within half the distance of opposing team pegs, please use common sense in this regard, (this means the casting distance, you may not physically walk to and fish in the other teams peg !) including pegs on the other side of the lake (you must however be in the same Zip Code & County). Please refer any questions you have about boundaries to one of the tournament directors.

-Each team MUST have 1 net that provides a safe way to land fish. Nylon knotted nets will not be allowed.
-Each team MUST have a Scale that has been checked and calibrated at the Corn Boil for the event. We will calibrate with 5 pounds of water in a bucket, check your scales before you get there !
-Each team MUST have a well-padded unhooking mat and weigh sling.
-Each team MUST have a tape measure , all fish are to be measured and recorded on the score cards. We do this to assist Parks & Wildlife.
-A max of 6 rods in the water (having hooks on them) per team at any ONE time.!
-SPOD rods and Marker rods are permitted they must not have hooks on them!
-Opposing teams will weigh and record captures,,,remote locations will have a Steward to do this
-One hook per rod and no treble hooks or any multi-pronged hooks allowed.
-Fish must be weighed, measured, and then verified by an opposing team member or a steward. Please return fish to the water promptly, after taking your photo(s) releases should be verified by the opposing team member or Marshal. --Only one fish per sack, if necessary
-All Scorecards MUST be turned in, the scorecards have the opposing teams verification on them,,,these must be submitted at the end of each day irrespective of whether you caught or not if the scorecard is NOT turned in at end of the days angling captures WILL NOT COUNT !! turn them in to one of the tournament directors (Ashleigh, Kevin or Chad)
-Scorecards not turned in will result in DISQUALIFICATION
-Boats will not be allowed during the event, this includes Kayaks, Row boats,Submarines, and bait boats.
-If a fish is hooked before the competition ends there will be a 15-minute extension time limit allowed to land the fish.
-Any foul hooked fish will not count; all captures must be hooked within one inch of the mouth.
-CAG and non CAG members may attend, please see registration form for details and fees for each category.

  6. Srv has not been pegged very often, when it was it was a pain in the ass cause of the off leash dog park.. well city ordnance has changed and thats no longer off leash. And that swim shares water with penn, mid penn and s. 1st... any of which have the potential to win the atc. Least that was my logic behind pegging dev.

  7. Ok anglers! I have been tasked with getting the information about the banquet out there and I am excited about doing so! This years awards banquet will be held at Patsy's Cafe, an iconic Austin eatery located a few blocks from the hotel. So, we have negotiated 3 menu options (that have been taste tested by the ACA crew) and came up with the following awesome meals...

    TEXAS BRISKET PLATTER

Slow cooked beef brisket, simmered & soaked in Patsy's own BBQ sauce, served with mashed potatoes and vegetables.

    SHINER CHICKEN

Chicken breast marinated in Shiner Bock stuffed with Boursin Cheese and jalapeno, wrapped in bacon and baked. Served with rice and vegetables

    COWGIRL FISH TACOS

Two fried fish tacos with jalapeno coleslaw, cayenne aioli, and pico de gallo on flour tortillas with rice and black beans

I need each angler to pick one of these and let me know what that choice is, because i have to have a finalized list turned in to the restaurant so they can be prepared. If due to a special need or diet anyone needs to deviate from this list, please let me know and we will make the appropriate adjustments. If it is possible, please let your partner know and ask him/her their choices and then either post here, send me a PM, or you can email me at august@austincarpangler.com with the name of the angler and their choice.

I also need to know if there will be any extra guests attending. There will be an option in the store to pay for each additional attendees meal at a flat rate of $15 per guest. So if you have any additional guests, i need their choice and name as well!

Extra Meal Tickets Available here : http://www.carpanglersgroup.com/forum/index.php?/store/category/55-xtra-meal-tickets/

ALSO: Lunch, in the form of subs/sandwiches will be delivered to anglers on both days of the event. Please indicate if you would like ham or turkey. You can even be a rebel and have one on one day and the other on the next, crazy! Just let me know or ill make you eat bologna and we dont want that!

Its shaping up to be another amazing event and i look forward to seeing everyone there!

  8. I think Bubba will be to busy smelling other peoples bait buckets to get any fishing done.

Tonys partner has a habit of takin teamates out with method leads so they will be out day one.

The yankees are all gonna pass out from heat strokes, so not.worried about them.

so that really only leaves a few Tx teams in the running. I've already got a spot cleared off for the trophy anyways so everyone just needs to accept the inevitable.

Gonna take Brid so long to unload all his buckes that fishing will be over by the time he gets his rods together.

  9. The day of the corn boil/social I will have to drive the entire lake in order to put out the peg signs at each swim. Don't know what time I will make it to the hotel, prolly 3pm-ish, but I would be more than happy to take anyone who doesn't know the swims along with me. And just like last year with me and Mike, I will tell you anything and everything I know about any swim. So feel free to tag along in my truck or follow, I just want as many people to catch and have the time of their lives as possible, THATS what the ATC is all about.

  10. I just wanted to throw somethign out there... I thought it might be cool to "share the wealth" with some of the flavorings that I have, so I will be bringing a number of bottles of flavoring to the corn boil. Some basics, tuttie, pineapple and so forth and some others from R&W that might be a little off the wall. I am not trying to give it all away but I thought that since there are so many flavors from so many makers, if I have anything that someone always wanted to try they could make a small batch of maize with a couple capfulls to give it a test run to see if they like it.

I think it would be neat if those who can, brought some of their stuff as well and maybe Ill get to try something new too! Woot woot only 4 more days!
