Well We finally have some water in our lake again it always holds water its a big lake10,000 acres of water but being in Arizona we tend to lose a good portion of our lake for part of the year the water is used for other purposes it never goes dry just a real situation trying to find areas that you can access it tends to be very steep and rocky so real problem trying to get the gear to the water and also the carp seem to run for the deep channel the water is up and we can fish again . Many will not beleive this but areas we had been fishing with 60 feet of water 100 yard cast were dry we actually walked out a couple months ago and found feeders that had been lost. but back to fishing we have had a few fishing trips this year so far.and are back to catching some nice fish no monsters but nice healthy hard fighting fish Carl caught a real nice 14lb common beleive actual weight was 14lbs 7oz. but the fish that caught us all by surprise was not real big 7 or 8 pounds cant remember exact weight but was the first mirror and what a beauty. We have been catching many fish in the 8 to 10 lbs range lots of them and some larger fish and I finally beat my PB with 17lbs 7 oz common
my New PB 17lbs 7 oz
Mac with a nice 12lbs
first Mirror
14lbs 7oz

Sounds like a great day

Love that place nice to be able to pull the truck right down to the swim and enjoy a relaxing day we have to hike up and down a hill to get to the Swim by the time you get everything set up your worn out and your feet are sore its rocky so you gotta watch the steps we fish on a incline on the rocks so if your not careful or move to fast you might wind up on your tail bone. Maybe I should just load the truck up and head to Pirates Cove for a nice relaxing day on the water

Thanks all!! I forgot to mention that all but one of the fish came on Tres Flores boilies. Trying something a little different flavour wise - although the method mix was a flavour I've been catching well on just recently --- garlic.
Robert - let me know ahead of time when you will be visiting - and I'll see what I can do to 'charm' some fish for you
Will do Brid

Great looking fish and Family Sounds like a good family outing

I know I could go out and purchase a Zebco setup for kids for $20,00 from Walmart but that will not hold up to some of these fish.
I grew up in the country and my grandfather and father took me fishing as a child. So for me that is normal but it appears it is not that normal because most of the kids in Hunters 2nd Grade class and most of the kids in Victoria's 7th grade class have never been fishing. if I am going to take some of the kids fishing I will have to offer to all the kids which means several weekends out fishing to take all that want to participate. but the school has approx 160 kids this is my number figuring the average size class room is 20 and I am not taking the Preschool and Kindergarten kids. So with the children that have shown interest in Hunters Class and Victoria's class at about 5 to 7 children in each class I will probably get the same amount with Interest in each grade which is making me think about 40 may actually go because some with Interest will back out for whatever reason. So I cant use disposable set up need something that will hold up. My goal is to take the Children that enjoy the fishing more then once. and I know some of them come from Single parent homes and purchasing the stuff themselves may not be something that is feasible. but if I have the stuff for them to use they will be able to enjoy fishing.
Please excuse my scattered thought I am in brain storming mode right now trying to see what I can do and am looking for imput to help me.
Also I cant ask the school for any kind of finacial support on this Schools are struggling enough just getting basic educational needs for the children

My son has asked as well as his teacher has mentioned that Hunter has talked about fishing in Class and some of the other kids said they wished they could go or I have never been fishing type of Comments and I was thinking maybe I could do something to fix that by taking some of his class mates fishing. Hunter goes to a small School so not many kids in his Class 19 in total. Then it was mentioned by my Daughter she is 13 that some of the kids in her class said they have never been fishing because she had told them about Hunters big grass carp. But anyways I was think maybe I could put together a few set ups and take some of the Kids I was thinking maybe 5 or 6 at one time. The rod and reel would need to be able to hold up to some hard fighting grass carp 5 to 7lbs is common in the area I was thinking of taking the Kids fishing. This area is productive with Grass carp and a few common and the action.gets fairly steady. Any Ideas on a set up that could be purchase reasonably. I like the Daiwa Regal with Bait runner and its price is not Bad also the Rod Hunter is using is good Zebco Platinum I believe is the name of it and it runs about $70.00 for both Rod and reel. I am sure I could get some time at the School with the kids that want to participate before we go to teach them how to cast. and use the equipment. I would like to gather some info on this see if it is possible I will be footing the bill for the stuff and then If I can do it I want to talk to the Principle and then to the Parents which most of them I see every morning Because I Voluntier as the crossing Guard. and I am sure I can get some help from some of the guys I fish with to Assist the children just want to see if it is possible before getting everyone all excited about it. Thanks for any input

I have not fished Tempe Town lake because from what my fishing partners say you have limited access to fish and then you also have to deal with other fighting for the same spots I would rather relax in a an area with more room. if your Interested in a trip to Lake Pleasant for some Common carp or local canal for Grass Carp. also have a pond that has some nice Koi common and some grassers in it let me know when you will be around it would be about 30 Miles away from you
