  1. Hi Robert,

Fishing anything between 15 - 40 yards out mainly on a method , the rods are 2 1/2 lbs test curve shimano's and the reels are daiwa big pit's. Dont know where you guys are fishing but maybe they make the rocks a biy sharper here in the NE.....LOL

MONO, MONO, and MONO.... Trust me.... Mono has the ability to stretch and take some abuse over structure where braid will not. It will just snap right away. I do not trust it. A good cost friendly mono would be Berkly Big Game. I would use 15 lb... that is plenty strong enough for any size fish if played correctly. Thiat stuff is tough as nails!

  2. Thanks for sharing Capt. It was also my dad who got me into hunting and fishing when i was about the age of 3. I have alwyays fly fished for trout fish for panfish and such like that. I recently found out about how awesome carp are and now its all i pretty much fish for. Been carping for a few yrs now and i still am waiting for my big common! Itl come one day!

  3. Carphd our free fishing day for PA is labor day just so you know in case you wanted to stay another day.

Ohhh forgotr bout that Brian, good timing to chime in... thanks buddy. And you are welcome Bill, if you have any questions than feel free to ask me. I know there are carp in Marsh Creek but never tried it... Im sure if you used your carp catching knowledgde and spent some time there you could catch some nice fish. I bet it holds monsters! I plan to attempt that new swim in the near future after i crack a local lake that holds MONSTERS.

  4. Yeah i live about 40 minues away from there. I know Marsh Creek State Park is not to awful far from there... but i am not sure how the carp fishing would be. Its very very weedy, big, deep and doesnt have an awful amount of bank space and would be hard to get around without a boat. Also hgets fished very hard by those who chase muskies and bass. Other than that I cannot help you out with places to fish, unless you are willing to drive a bit.

  5. Did not really hurt at all it did break the skin but was really like couple scratches. I picked him up after that and was looking at him he never tried to bite me again. My buddy I was fishing with is from PA and had seen them before so he was laughing his Arse off at me because it did scare me. I thought I had been bit by a water moccasin at first being from FL that was my first thought then remembered I was in PA and you do not have water Moccasins

Wow man... i hope i see one soon!

  6. So what type of mix are you using to launch 100 yds then. Because i havent heard of many people launchin proper method balls 100 yds. Thats far! Tell me your secrets... maybe you could be misjudging the distance though. Many people are bad at judging distances... I am actually really good at judging distances.. i am a bowhunter for deer obv... and do a lot of other hunting and that builds on ya when your learnin to judge distances in yds. but who knows maybe im just that inexperienced of a carp fisherman that i cant cast 100 yds with method or know anyone who does?
