  1. Your welcome buddy... You popop would be proud man! Hes looking down on us when were carping man... I love carping. Its mu passion... And waterfowl hunting! I wanna succeedto my best ability. Teach people about what carp truly have to offer and learn to be a versatile angler and succeed to my goals of bigger fish and different styles and such!

  2. Excuse me... bow fihsing... are you kidding me... get outta here! Nobody says anything about bow fihsing on CAG... Carp are gods to us!! lol.Anyways yes Mario that would be great to see a junior thing too... I love CAG!

  3. People will have to forgive me. I was kind of drunk yesterday...well not really but I haven't been able to sleep for days and I become weird like this when that happens. But you may be glad to hear that I've been able to sleep for a few hours and my mind is clear now :D .

I in no way am equating wealth with happiness. I've lived for 33 years and I've made some serious mistakes along the way but I've also learned some valuable lessons. I've learned that happiness does not come from wealth (not that I've ever had any), or having material things or even catching specimen carp :o ....but happiness comes from 3 things.....a relationship with your maker, finding true love  and having good friends. I know that, that may sound gay to some of you or even a bit cliche but this is the absolute truth.

Everyone please disregard my ramblings on this thread :D . The Saxons are really great rods for the money and I know that I'm doing the right thing to pass it along to the young CC because he still has many years of carp fishing ahead of him...unlike me, an old fart who has fished way more than I deserve :Old:

haha i will always remember your words of wisdom mike. Thanks a bunch man.. But why have you retired carp fishing? Dont you like it anymore?? Just curious... not to be to nosy or get off topic!

  4. Haha thats awesome man. And no i didnt get the joke... but at first i though maybe you were kidding... its not everday you meet a person tht generous that they wll give you a Saon rod.Thankyou Mike... I truly appreciate it... You have no idea man. Honestly CAG has made me a new person... I really realized how awesone tge peope are on here, Teaching me how i want to be in life. Hopefully one day i can hand dowwn my stuff to a begginner just like you!

    Sincerely,

    CC

  6. 100 - 120 yds is certainly very achievable and I think you have the right rig set-up in mind!

'Feathering the cast' is when you use your finger tip to slow the line coming off the spool toward the end of the cast. This can be done to prevent casting too far, reducing the impact of the lead & bait hitting the water and if using a lead clip to ensure lead does not come free when the lead hits the water.

Thanks Ian... Sounds good to me... Will probably be getting a Saxon when i can! They sound like awesome rods.... Like i said i just want to acheive a bit of distance ith a medium priced rod that will last me aa LONG time and play fish really well. I will eventually be getting 3 Saxons. I will get 2 3.5s and a 3.25 probably. And okay feathering the cast ... alright i will do that too when fishing distance. Barbel why dont you fish anymore? I have to carp fish! lol Anyways thanks for all the info guys... it is much appreciated.

    Tightlines,

    CC

  7. I completely understand... i meant like 100 plus yds... nothing over 150 if up to 150 at all. I realize thats a long distance... and very hard to get to that point and accurately fish. But when im seein fish out far (100-125yds) i would love to get a hoook bait out there. I would run a 3 0z + distance lead with a very small stick mix and hopefully be able to acheive my goal EVENUTUALLY! I by know means think that im gona buy a certain rod and magically be casting 200 yds... I know its not posisble... And i just want to be able to get into the 100 yd mark and possibly little bit more with a little pracitce... Thats all i need. What is feathering when you cast?

  8. Sorry thoought his name was Barry not a big deal.... And okay cool, i mean right in an around 150 yds.. .not rlly any more... to me thats extreme distance. And maybe you just aenrt a good caster :P ahhaha just messing around... I currently have a Daiwa Mad Dragon and it can get me like 80 yds at best when i rlly push it with just a lead when praciticing casting. LOL. I just want something with a bit of power that can get me a little over 100 yards maybe up to 150 if i work on my casting ability. Not 200... I would have trouble castng 200 with any rod and i dont have the money to buy a rod over 300 bucks. Thats ot much money. 200 max... I can still catch carp on any rod just would like a bit better one to get me farther and last me longer!

  9. Thanks Barry.... So you cant really get extreme distane with them? Then in your opinion what would be a rod that gets really good distance and is in my price range of 200 bucks..? I want to be able to get out far... right now i cangt do that and its holding me back from catching some large specimens. I fish very big lakes and most of the time when they do show them selves i see some big girls slowly surface way out where knowone can get to. I need to beginto fish more secluded areas where i live. So i want something with some casting power...

  10. Hey Barbelfloat... thanks man. I actually am now considering the Saxons! Thats what i will most likelyg get now.. I havent heard anything bad about them so why not! But you did mention that you didnt liek the guides... How come? To big... to small... material??? Whats wrong with the guides? And you said its not a distance rod... how far are we talking?

  11. Imfihsing lakes... I dont fish the river for carp. Where i live i havent notice many large specimens... as you go down more... more towards philly the river gets deeper and seems to hold some big fish. Up here its so shallow and gets bowfished hard so i try to stay away from there!

  12. I do not own a pod but want to soon. They are so much nicer than having to muscle banksticks in the ground... althought i do like banksticks on some occassions. In my opinion it is good to have both... reason being. I fish a lot of tight swims with weeds... branchers.... trees... not much room to place a pod so this is where my banksticks are well worth the money. But like i said its good to have both. That way you can fish anywhere form a concrete wall to a mucky ground! Rod pods keep your rods all evenly spaced and rested nice and well and like carpinken said... you can sometimes adjust your rod tips high up for say fishing snaggy areas or to real low if its windy or not snaggy. Both banksticks and pods can and do hold bite alarms.... which is nice. Like others said... its not something you need but it deffinately is nicer with it than without... trust me. It will be a great luxury when i do get one!

  13. Well Robert again i can not thankyou and carpinken enough for the offer... I truly appreciate it and you both are great guys and you are CAG, Your what keeps CAG up an running.. dont worry i will be buying a membership hopefully when i can. I need to save for my future and still need some carp fishing stuff so first lemme get all what i need then il buy a membership. And some day down the road i will be proud to say that im a CAG member and iwould like to try to become the state chair of Pa. And one day i will be in your guys shoes and offering to pay for some kids membership. Again its nothing against you guys i just dont feel right about it because i could afford to buy a membership atm in the terms of i have the money for it but i cant make it happen right now kinda thing.. if you kno what i mean. I have to really watch my spending. Again nothing against you guys andi truly appreciate the kind offer... .thanks guys. But you can still find me on here around the begginer and stories section. Take care guys.

    Sincerely,

    Nate
