FOX kuro xs4, awwesome hook, but tend to dull easly, i always check the sharpness before putting a rig out, if it drags on my fingernail it's not sharp enough.

Nice session! I agree with you, your 17 looks like a monster in the making, beautiful capture indeed!

Something like this one?
http://www.bankfishingsystems.com/index.php/rrcombos/product/62-7-ft-extreme-rcor-300-combo
I would go with the 9ft. version, but looks like a great starting combo, 10bb reel+. or even try the classic carp rods 12ft.

The best deal you could get for carp fishing for under $100 for new anglers, check out Bankfishingsystems.com, they have some 7 and 9ft rods that would be a good choice along with baitrunner reels. Also I have never seen a carp reel with a trigger release, all are maual bail operating.

Wednesday, Tom and myself met up with the old master, Gilbert Huxley, for a day session, on some new water. Man it was a blast to, beside all the stupid GNATS! I started by throwing 20 method balls, my bait of choice was WCB Sweetcorn mixed with Hempmadness. First fish came within the first hr. then it was on all day long. It was left and right, seemed like non stop, to the point were we almost went to 2 rods. Had a total of 37 fish recorded, 5 of them being over 20lb, lots of mid-high teens aswell. Fish fell to WCB neon fruity strawbery pop-ups white, there strawberry maize & 4season, critically balanced tigernuts, and Korda citrus zing pop-up corn, here some pics.

Picked my peg, first thing I did was wackerblast 20 method balls, into my swim. It started with the first fish about 30 mins in, unfortunately it came un done like 3ft in front of my net, but I wasn't discouraged. Casted back out into my baited swim, shortly after 1 in the net, then before that rod got back out another in the sack. got the rods back out, and the fish basically kept repeating every 20-30 mins, 1 or 2 fish were landed. Was using 2, 5oz pear gripper bolt rigs, and a 4oz inline method gripper feeder. WCB's Erni Method Mix, alond with the new maize, and compulsion spray make a deadly combination! Finished with 6 fish in the 4hr. tourny, for 38.3lbs, for 1st place overall weight.
