  1. Always a good time carp fishing, anytime you are more then welcome to fish with us, we have our own forum to, Indianacarptalk.com and 2 clubs, wich have events for the majority of the year at least 1 a month, Wild Carp Club of Indiana and Hoosier Carpers also our local CAG fish-ins as well. Indiana has a lot of carpers and it continues to grow and promote the Carp and share the passion with others, who haven't got to experience the power of a carp.

  2. Knowing 2-4 inches of snow was coming we decided to put up with the crap anyway and fish. Luckely the wind was down and temps weren't too bad, believe it was in the upper 20's maybe low 30's. If only the fish would have co-operated. Had the poles in at midnight, had a small bump in the first 30 min, probably a line bite, that was the only sound my alarms made the entire night. I tried everything, puff's, single grains of pop-up corn, bottom bait boilies, and regular pop-ups and still could get no interest from the fish. We had 2 registered FFF competitors there that fished all night up and past 12 noon, for a 12hr. session and still blanked. Tom Montez and myself, the Chub s plus shelter w/ door is awesome, thanks for letting us use it Jim sure hleped out a lot. Although it is not tall it stays extremely warm w/ a portable propane mr. hetater buddy, we were shedding colthes. Downtown is probably not the safest place to be on New Years night, guns were bucking off like non-other I was just hoping that people were shooting at the ground or a target and not in the air, although local news reported multiple houses being hit by stray bullits, people are DUMB! So 8 a.m. came around and I moved spots. Jim donlan from Westside Bait hosted the FFF on the White for local anglers. We 3 FFF entrants here, Roy Buchanon, Tom Montez and Myself, still NO fish captured in the 4hr. event. I would like to say, thanks to Jim for another great event, and we even got to fish together wich never happens. I had lots of fun hanging out with everyone, we had some great conversations. 8 people total competed at the event, and no fish were caught, so we decide to raffle stuff off. First was for the trophy and $40 buck, Nick Olson claimed, next was a $25 gift cetificate for Westside Bait, Robert Bradley got that, gonna help him get his Okuma reels, third was for a BFS baitneedle kit, Roy Buchanon chose that, and last was for a double sided rig-book from BFS, and Tom Montez won that. All of this was thanks, to Jim Donlan, without you and the baitshop Hoosier Carpers wouldn't know what to do. From the Hoosier Carpers ,thanks for everything u do Jim!

  3. Or 50% from the north and 50% from the south

So I don't understand what you mean? So you know a better spot that can accommodate 60+ anglers, oh ya there was a 25+ caught a few weeks ago at the White River downtown. I have caught loads of mid to upper teens. And I saw a LOT of small fish caught at Joliet last week, even though there may be some more bigger fish in #ers there don't underestimate the White River. All I'm saying is a draw DEFINITELY wouldn't be fair. A fair way to decide would be to have qualification tournaments. And since there are already 75 marked pegs downtown that is why I recommended we have it there. And we hold the qualification tournaments and the same venue. Indiana has a lot of carp anglers more then a lot of states do so this is why I think it would be the fairest way to decide. Top 15 anglers with the most overall total weight for the combined qualification events will determine who make the team, kinda like try-outs.

  4. I am gonna have a talk with some Hoosier Carpers about settin this up. Here in Indiana we have a lot more anglers then 15 who will want to compete so we need to set up a qualification event or mini-series, to decide fairly on who will get to compete. I really like this concept a lot, here in Indy the White River holds 75 pegs plenty of room for 60 anglers. I really like this concept, it will be fun. I will contact some main people here the State Chair, Jathan Imhousan and Amos Behana who are kind enough to run our local HCTT series and also Jim Donlan from Westside Bait and Tackle who plays a big role period in wild tournament carp fishing in Indiana. I will try and talk with them here soon probly first of next week, tosee if we can get something going, if not no biggie.

  5. I feel for you Marshall. This thing took of so quick that I'm sure a lot of anglers have missed out on the chance to fish this event. Still as others have said, its still a ways off & anything could happen or change. Hope you get a chance to be included. It sounds like you are more than a worthy competitor for this event!.

Thank you very much for your thoughts. There's just so many avid carp anglers in Indy, and myself I fish EVERY!!! week. I am very dedicated since I competed in my first White River tournament in 2010, I practice as often as I can. Learn something new every week and I just want the chance to prove it to myself that I can compete with the BIG dogs. I don't have a great job, don't make lots of money to spend on going all over the US for the big tourney's and this being free is awesome, only for GLORY. Which is the reason I fish tournaments, not for money, but for glory knowing that I just placed 2nd out of 60+ anglers may not of took 1st, but that's what tournament fishing is about for me.

  6. Nice captures! What size hook are u using? those fish look like they have a small mouth maybe u need to change hook size and go smaller. I would try a very small hook with a very short hair big enough for 1 piece of imitation rubber pop-up sweet corn, chum out a lil sweet corn and cast into the baited area. There is a small pond were I live with small common carp, this is very effective for me, but I too will run into the nuisance fish blue gill and catfish there, I think it's a pond thing.

  7. Hi, Marshall--I will start the December 15 sign-up following the December 1 event. However, you need not sign up again. You, Adam, and Tom are in. Just let me know if you will be unable to make it a day or so in advance as the weather might get a bit like it was in early December two years ago. Thanks. I look forward to your participation on Dec. 15!--Frank
