  1. Great session Marshall, I fished a different spot on the White on Wednesday and only managed to hook into a small buff. Looks like I missed out at a chance on some good action downtown!

I almost always post when I go under the tag-along section on Indiana carptalk check it out before u go sometime I usually go on Monday or Tuesday because those are my days off work, if your ever off on one of the days and want to fish send me a pm on carptalk.

  2. Tuesday I was there and I landed a triple that equaled over 30lbs. I was catching a bit smaller ones yesterday, think because I was out in the open stretch of the channel, Tom was fishing closer to the bridge wall and produced bigger fish. It's very hard to tell what size fish you will catch here but I have yet to catch a 20 from this river, but I have seen pics of a few there just very illusive. I would say size range from 3lbers up to mid to high teens caught regularly, and the mirrors, well those are very rare catch here and a koi is just about unheard of, I've seen only 1 koi taken, Bruce Tomlins son caught a nice white with black spot koi.

  3. So we got to our spot around 6:30 a.m. was a little nippy out, but after the sun came out I became toasty. It was supposed to be my partner's in crime, lol but one of them decided to sleep in, boy did he miss out. I landed the first fish just as the sun was rising, around 7:30 then another about 5 mins after that. 20 - 30 mins went by and i landed my third fish, very shortly after banking the 3rd fish, my buddy Toms pole took off peelin! Which eneded up being his first mirror carp, a linear mirror, Very rare catch here at the White. Then the bite was on it was back and forth between the both of us, awesome way to start an awesome holiday. Total of 14 or 15 carp landed and only 1 fish lost, which came off half way to the net. I finished with 9 fish, and my buddy Tom ended up with 6 or 7 can't remember exactly. We fished from around 6:30-12:00, pretty good session today, I just knew we were gonna get into some fish, it was a beautiful day today! Here are a few pic's my camera froze up and quit workin so didn't get all the photo's but whatever.

  4. I caught a 30+ grassie on a #6 eagle claw baitholder hook, the hook held up fine, not to mention it was on a 7ft. medium action all-star bass rod paired with a shimano 2500 sienna 6lb. test. The hook did straighten out, only when I netted the fish and he started thrashing straightened it right out. I looked for them here in Indy and were I live Dick's Sporting Goods doesn't have them yet.

  5. biggest carp I ever caught was on a #6 eagle claw baitholder hook with about 4 peice of sweetcorn straight on the hook , it was grassie somewhere around the 30+ mark, this was paired with a 2500 shimano siena and a 7ft medium fast action team all-star rod, on 8lb test. I do think hook quality is improtant but as long as you play the fish correctly any hook will do in my opinion. I will be sure to be on the look out for these here in Indy, thanks for the find.

  6. I agree with SoCalCarper, cherry at the river is the bomb. I love the k-1 jumbo cherry corn and the wafters. Cherry must be a river thing cause here in Indy it's banggin! :swimminfish: Boiled maize also will help you out with your problem, also try the enterprise rubber corn imitate the sweet corn to the T pop-up or sinking, soak it in your sweet corn juice for a few days prior to fishing. Lately I have been using boiled maize and have had good success at the river, I usualy fish a method-mix with added maize and sweetcorn. I like to tip my rig off with flavored rubber pop-up corn soaked in my flavor of choice along with a piece or two of maize under the hook, pretty effective in my opinion give it a go, see if helps.

  7. great fish! I need some of those

Here in Indiana, at least were I'm at, Meijer has puffs as a cereal in like the natural food section or sumthin, it's not with theregular cereal's. Like 2 or 3 bucks for a nice sized bag, caught loads of fish with them at the pay-lake.

  8. Ya Tom got a new spot 76, was created at the tournament ended up winning he was on the left side of the bridge and I was on the right. He ended up winning overall weight and I ended up winning biggest fish, which also became my new White River PB, and bumped me into 1st for overall weight in the season got 1 tournament left and anything is possible. Loads of fish can be caught at the next venue so it's gonna be a real nail-bitter, I have to catch fish! And big thanks to Jim Donlan, for another great tournament and food like usual! :yourock: Congrats to Tom this was his 2nd wild carp tournament ever!
