  1. I had this happen to me but worse. I had my back turned rebaiting one of my poles, this was on White River downtown INDPLS, IN next thing I knew my alarm was screeming. This dude was showing off for his girlfriend, going probly 40mph, about 25-30 yrds. from the bank, he didn't know wut happend, he kept hauling stripped all of 280yards+ of 15lb biggame off my reel. Melted my alarm, my reel still works but needs a clicker peice. and if I hadn't been right there my pod would of been gone. I was furious, he said he didn't see us, (5) people. People just need to show bank fisherman more courtesy and respect, we can't go anywhere on the lake thats wut really makes me mad, they have the lake to go wherever but want to fish right on top of u, burns me up!

  2. I use only when im fishin at the river really and thats only when I know there are snags for my lead to get caught up on then lose the fish because of it. I use a method ball slingshot or whacker blaster to bait my swim then cast my lead clip system out into the baited area. But I to agree with accordbw, I prefer inline leads, I think they hook up better then the lead clip system.

  3. Caught 3 fish there in about 2 1/2 hrs. the other day biggest was a 10+, and a fellow hoosier carper caught 1 at a different spot somewhere on the river that was a 20, but I think majority of the fish weighed will be somewhere between 5 and 10lbs. Big fish last year was 18 and some change. The bridge pegs are very snaggy but excellent spots, last year peg 1 Frank Rink won at the 10st. bridge. Goodluck to anyone who comes out, it's supposed to cool down next week here and I think the fish will be feeding a little more heavily.

  4. I have to say that I really love the Dynamite pineapple with added betaine is probly my favorite flavoring to use. I almost never use flavoring's but this one definately works for me. Sometimes i like to use some bananna flavor, I think it's called bubba j's carp flavorings, it works as well. These are the main 2 that have worked for me.

  5. I caught one fishing for commons, on sweetcorn straight on the hook, but I freequntly chum the area so he probly already had his guard down. went to get my camera and the fish was gone, somehow he flopped down the bank and bank into the lake before i could take a pic, my 1st and only grassie to date, but he had to been around 30lbs. over 3ft. long I could hardly get him in the net. And when they get close to the bank, they flip out and start ripping line off the reel. They put up a hell of a fight :swimminfish: ,

  6. My buddy got the worst case of poison Ivy I have ever seen. In that exact spot, it was so bad he got cellulitus, it looked like leprosey,

. Congrats, there have been some really nice fish caught there. My buddy hit a 20+ there, Chuck got a 30+ there, and I seen pics of other 20+ caught by some people who I have not met yet, It sure is an awesome place. NICE, Captures

  7. I have many fish tanks, all african cichlids but as long as you have lots of filtration and water cirulation you could put lots of koi in that 75gallon. I have roughly 35cichlids 2-5inches in size in a 75 gallon, they are very healthy and happy breed all the time, I have 3filters on the tank, an air pump stone, a koralia 1050 watercirculator pump and a maxijet 1200pump. I would do an undergravel filter with a powerhead attached so the filter actually works, a canister filter, because koi are dirty fish this will help a lot to keep ur tank clean, a aquaclear 110 hang on filter or cascade 300 hang on filter, An air pump with like 10"stone, and another powerhead for some extra current flow. If you do all this your tank will be really clean and clear. I've seen some awesome mirror koi here at a local petshop in Indiana, almost made me wanna change 1 of my tank set ups to KOI :swimminfish: . Hope this will help some!

  8. I usually use 2.5-3oz. lead at least, it helps in the hooking process. I too am a newbie with the hairrig used about year and a half, I can honestly say the majority of my runs are screemers! I think the carp feels the heavyness of the weight and spooks, causing the screemin runs, and usually a good hookset aswell.
